Philips Xenium X1560: technical specifications, instructions, reviews. Reviews: Mobile phone PHILIPS Xenium X1560, black MicroSD slot for memory card

The most important advantage is time. Lasted with daily conversations (about 20-30 minutes a day) for 1 month and three days. At first it seemed quiet to me (signals), but after five days I got used to it and already perceive it completely normally. Somewhere they wrote about contacts that need to be transferred manually. The dog knows him, but I’m ready to transfer a thousand contacts for such a long time (more than a month of work) - even in the taiga, even in the jungle, on any hike - you have a connection for at least a month and it will never unexpectedly run out.

Regular phone with good battery and two SIM cards.

The most important thing is the battery, it wouldn’t be bad to put these in all modern mobile devices communications. Big screen, even very big for push-button phones. It is difficult to talk about its quality, however, the first impression of it cannot be called bad. You can ignore complaints about bad software. For buyers who are not experienced with the capabilities of the most modern gadgets (you know who I mean), navigation by phone, 2 SIM cards, functions and even the absence of a camera may seem extremely attractive. Adjusting the font size, which, by the way, does not change very much, a ready-made radio receiver and nice plastic can also be considered advantages of this phone. And, of course, the price. In some online stores, taking into account bonuses, you can buy a phone for less than 2000.

Battery! And once again Battery! Possibility of recharging from the built-in USB connector. Nice design. Big screen. Convenient buttons. Convenient size. The radio works without headphones. The call is quite loud. The volume during a conversation is more than enough. Price! 2360 rub. No camera or games. Ability to set automatic on/off. Build quality - nothing loose, nothing comes off.

2 SIM, battery, audibility, radio without headphones, recharging via USB

Normal sound, USB charging for other gadgets (charges slowly but surely), universal charging, Galaxy and this one are powered by the same charge. Quickly search for a number in a book using two or three digits, Easier than its capacious Xenium counterparts.

According to my wife, this is a real man's phone. Pleasant to the touch and weight, fits well in the hand.

Large capacity battery, ability to charge iPhone/iPad, two active SIM cards

I don’t have a flashlight (but then it would run out faster) and I always have a tiny flashlight with me.

Relatively heavy due to the battery, the software does not allow synchronization of contacts. Buttons without relief are not tactile.

It may be difficult to find a suitable case; the phone has dimensions that are larger than usual. The device has everything else for a phone in its category (and even more), so there are no more shortcomings or they are insignificant.

Call speaker. It rattles a little when playing a melody. At first I didn’t like it, but now I don’t even notice it. Maybe it won't rattle anymore. Inconvenient volume control. When making a call, conversation, listening to music in the player and while listening to the radio, you need to change the volume different ways. For example, I have not yet figured out how to change the volume level while listening to the radio.

no black list, no flashlight, no themes, calls first from SIM1 right away, but the network disappeared, and the call came from SIM 2, and I was talking, and the money was coming from another card. Now I can see which network the call is dialed from regardless

There is no sound rocker on the case.
The buttons on the headset also do not affect the volume.
Doesn't play folders, only from a bunch of files.
You can immediately throw away the headphones.
There is no camera, which means there is no flashlight.
There are only preset ringtones on SMS.
There are a lot of unnecessary manipulations in the menu.
Will not tolerate contact normally. Fuss, easier with a SIM card.
    No eyelet for lanyard.

So far I haven't found how:
    1. transfer contacts;
    2. change/set ringtone;
    3. connect it to your computer via BT;
Most likely, the inscriptions on the buttons will soon be erased. The unlock star is already noticeably dimmer than the other buttons, and I've only been using it for a few hours.
For those who are accustomed to the brightness and vibrancy of colors on the screen, relax and try to enjoy the relatively faded, shifted blue screen with depth effect.

An inconvenient menu, a strange call list, and most importantly: the silent mode button only works in two profiles: general/silent, so you can’t set general/meeting (to vibrate during a call). Very annoying, since the mode needs to be switched quite often, and doing this is inconvenient

Mobile phone Philips Xenium The X1560 is literally a little powerhouse in your hand. Not only does it have superior battery performance for long calls, it can also charge other smartphones if you connect them with a USB connection cable directly. With this device you can literally feel the possible power of the battery.

The phone can last up to 100 days in standby mode without recharging, which seems simply incredible. In addition, on a single charge it can last up to 40 hours of talk time.

Two SIM cards

It is done quite quickly, and the pictures are displayed bright and colorful. At the same time, the response time when loading each image is minimal. Display resolution - 240 x 320 pixels, 16 million colors available. For a device in the budget price category, these are quite good indicators. There are also different formats for receiving and sending messages - combined SMS (long SMS), SMS CB (Cell Broadcast), SMS (Short Message Service), multipurpose SMS, MMS, multimedia message service. Additional feature is a network connection using WAP 2.0 technology. Of course, the Philips Xenium X1560 has very modest specifications, but for a budget device they are very good.

Sound

The audio playback capabilities on the device are very modest - MP3 calling is available, polyphony is present (64 tones). Supported audio formats: MP3, AMR, Midi, AAC, which can also be used as a call ringer. The Philips Xenium X1560 phone (reviews of which are positive) records sound in AMR format. It is possible to record your own voice, the sound is quite clear and loud.

Phone memory

The device supports Micro SD memory cards with a maximum capacity of 8 GB. The Philips Xenium X1560 has practically no storage space of its own.

Call management

The menu contains an archive of incoming and outgoing calls, including unanswered ones. There are settings for forwarding incoming calls, which can be done in various ways. There are also call waiting options and emergency calls. The sound signal during a call can be turned off or replaced with vibration, and its volume is also adjustable. The screen displays a digital clock showing the current time.

Text input can be carried out either using the standard alphanumeric method or using the T9 mode. The interface language can be changed at the user's request. Available languages include Russian, English, Romanian and Ukrainian.

Power

As mentioned above, the phone has a super-powerful battery. The device can work for more than three months without recharging. This is provided by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2900 mAh.

Accessories

The standard kit when purchasing a phone is as follows - charger, headset, transmission cable USB data, user guide. The device is supplied in a thick cardboard box. For Philips Xenium X1560, the instructions are extremely simple. This is also rated by users.

Positive qualities of Philips Xenium X1560

  • Low cost.
  • A capacious battery that lasts a very long time and is economical.
  • A rather large screen measuring 2.4 inches. Its characteristics are quite good, it is just a phone without any additional functions.
  • Attractive appearance. Despite its simplicity, the device looks modern.
  • Possibility of simultaneous use of two SIM cards.
  • High-quality work and stable connection. Conversations take place very comfortably.
  • The ringer volume is quite high level, and the ringing sound is pleasant. The vibration alert is good, it’s hard to miss it.
  • The device has a good menu that does not contain unnecessary items. There is no direct access to social networks, etc.
  • For each contact, it is possible to record a place of work, email, other important information.
  • Alarm clock in five modes with the ability various settings regarding periodicity.

Flaws

  • The button located in the center is not very convenient. When operating the Philips Xenium X1560 phone, it is easy to miss, especially for a user with less than thin fingers.
  • The device is quite large in size and especially thick. At first glance, the device is not too bulky, but compared to more advanced smartphones, this difference is very noticeable.
  • There are no applications that synchronize the device with the computer. This is probably the most significant drawback. As a result, if you need to transfer contacts somewhere, you have to do this only through a SIM card. Moreover, it is not possible to create backup copy contacts - if the phone breaks down, all saved data will be irretrievably lost.
  • The telephone directory is not very convenient. There is no option to save multiple mobile numbers in one contact. You are allowed to record only one mobile, one home and one work number. The name must contain no more than thirty characters.
  • It is not possible to save a large number of SMS or store them for a long time. Almost all users will agree that a certain part of messages needs to be saved, but this is not possible in the device described.
  • You cannot set the desired sound signal to receive SMS. There is only a choice of several preset very simple signals.
  • The USB connector located at the bottom is practically useless. Of course, you can charge other gadgets through it, including smartphones, but in practice few users will do this. The design of the device includes a rubber plug. However, this slightly spoils the appearance of the phone.

Final verdict

This device is suitable for those users who need only phone functions. For them, long battery life and the lack of additional options will be relevant.

P.S. to increase the ringer and radio volume go to engineering menu*#3646633# there we change the Audio-Normal Mode Melody and FM Radio parameter to Volume 6 from 144 and 192 to 255. Now the radio and call are louder

Super battery. The absence of unnecessary energy consumers for wifi, camera, flashlight, yes, yes, this is an advantage (the smart has an excellent flashlight, if you really need it). Good connection, even where other models gave up. Strict appearance. Memory card 16 GB 10kl. stood up like a native
Well, and most importantly, the function of charging other devices!
Flaws
An ideal means of communication and recharging, what are the disadvantages?

It was interesting to test how it charges other devices. Battery (1910 mAh) smart Sony Xperia Charged the acro S from 57% to 100% in 1 hour and 27 minutes. I gave the remaining energy to the tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 (7000mAh on board). And here is the old smart SGS 1
“I didn’t see it” at all.
P.S. Making unimaginable demands on this device (“no camera”, “no WIFI”, “can’t save five e-mail addresses and ten phone numbers under one name in Kotakt”) is simply stupid.

    - 2900 mah battery
    - USB connector for charging gadgets
    - Good quality manufacturing, does not play, does not hold together, the backlight of the keyboard is almost uniform.
    - SIM card slots allow you to insert a mini SIM, although they are made to look like a regular one.
    - Radio works without headphones
    - Good call quality
Flaws
    - No flashlight
    - No Java
    - Phone book, noting complete (few fields)
    - USB plug without fixation (removed and lost)
    - Strange things with ringtones for alarm clocks and ringtones, you can send your own to SMS and there are only 3 built-in ones
    - Ring volume is weak
    - The screen is so-so, the fonts are crooked
    - No 3G (this sucks, it could at least be a modem)
A comment

The battery with which you can make calls is all, there can be no delight from such a phone, you can only charge an iPhone with it, in other models the battery is almost the same as on the Philips, so you can only support another device so that it doesn’t run out completely. The implementation of the phone book is clumsy, there are few fields for recording, the handset does not understand modern formats, you will have to transfer it manually or with crooked software via a computer, the screen is so-so, you could plug in an Amoled, it costs pennies for this size, there is no Java password keeper cannot be installed, quality The connection is good, because the handset is 2G, if you switch any smart phone to this mode (GSM), the quality of communication will be the same because 2G covers everything here, for a very long time. As a result, the phone is a time machine (back to the past). Ideal for those who talk a lot on the road; for others, it’s completely noticeable.

Now I carry with me only one cable (USB-microUSB), with which I can charge everything from the PHILIPS Xenium X1560: a Bluetooth headset, a smartphone, a portable speaker.
Flaws
The headphones let us down, they are impossible to use: imagine the huge male ears of an elderly man... so, even in them, I think, these headphones will not fit. And with them the radio reception is better than with my Sonierikson ones...

After turning the phone off and on, some settings were reset. I had to re-set it. But the important things remain: hot buttons, calendar entries, etc.

A comment

There are no games. There is no flashlight. No camera. There is no vegetation. Populated by robots))
The SIM card selects both the main one with which to call and the one with which to go online (in this phone, a very “important” function)))))

The buttons are convenient, including the central ones.
Super menu “hot” buttons, customizable: 1. up 2. down 3. left 4. right, 5. central I use to call up the calendar 6. the top right button calls up a list compiled by me.
The calendar is great! Notes for the entire month or by week are visible; customizable reminders, etc. Android smartphones do not have normal calendar applications. So I use it with pleasure. The notes are also quite functional.

The display has brightness settings (wide range) and font size.

The calculator is convenient.

I don’t write about the rest because everything suits me or even makes me very happy.

Review mobile phone Philips Xenium X1560. Technical features and governing bodies

Specifications

Standard: GSM 900/1800/1900.

Number of SIM cards: 2.

Display: color TFT, 262 thousand colors, 2.4 inches, 240x320.

Battery: 2900 mAh.

Memory card: microSD (TransFlash), up to 8 GB.

Interfaces: Bluetooth 2.1, USB.

Weight: 122 g.

Dimensions: 51.1 x 119.6 x 16.3 mm.

Appearance, body

What can we say, this model was an ugly duckling - silver plastic inserts, a curved screen with beveled corners, a peculiar keyboard. The new model looks much more solid. received a so-called masculine design: black color (the insert is only on the side edge), clear straight lines, flat screen. It looks good on par with more expensive push-button phones. The materials of the case, however, have not changed: it is the realm of plastic of different textures (only on the keyboard you can notice a couple of metal strips), but for a budget phone this is normal.

Compared to its predecessor it has grown in size. Not very much, but still. The height has increased by 6 mm, and the width by 3.1 mm. But its thickness decreased by 0.95 mm. The last parameter seems to be ridiculously small, but it corrected the disproportion in size that . He seemed a little overweight, but new model not anymore. Overall it looks slender and harmonious. Considering the size of the battery the engineers needed to hide in the depths of the case, we can say that they coped with the task with five points. A slight increase in dimensions does not affect operation.

An increase in size required not only a more capacious battery, but also new screen, which grew from 2 to 2.4 inches. This made working with the phone more convenient, although the screen itself, of course, cannot be considered top-end. It has decent brightness (although it still goes blind in the sun) and good colors, but the resolution is not very high, and viewing angles, especially vertically, are ridiculously small. For a budget phone, this is a normal screen, but nothing more.

The equipment seems to have remained the same, but received a number of features. Charger, as before, prefabricated, consists of an adapter and a cord. But if the connector had Mini-USB, then it’s Micro-USB. This is hardly important; both formats are widespread enough to allow you to choose the right cable if necessary. The adapter has also changed, but here the replacement is forced - the new adapter is designed to work with a higher current, otherwise the larger battery would take forever to charge.

The headset also has not disappeared from the budget phone package (which in itself is pleasant and even a little surprising). Moreover, instead of the monophonic misunderstanding with one earphone that came with it, a decent stereo option has appeared, through which you can comfortably talk and listen to music.

I was amused by the inclusion of a card from the famous Liters store for five free books. Apparently, the manufacturer has an agreement with the store and they place similar promotional materials in all of their products. In the case of this, it looks quite comical. The card itself says that “the Liters application is already installed on your phone and through it you can download free books.” Naturally, there is no application on the phone, and there is no “Applications” section at all. Moreover, it is basically impossible to install any reader. Most likely, this is a universal card; it was included in the box with this model for the company. So, although the card looks nice, it does not bring any real bonuses - you cannot use it on another phone or tablet.

Controls

The first thing that attracts attention is the changed keyboard. If the keys were combined in threes into blocks of a very bizarre shape, then they were made with a regular 3x3 matrix. Typing SMS on a first generation phone was not very convenient. Although the horizontally cut keyboard allowed you to move from key to key by touch, the travel of the buttons was such that until you looked at the screen, it was not clear how many times you pressed a key. It is a little more difficult to move by touch to adjacent buttons, but the keys themselves have become much more convenient. They have a long, soft stroke and a clear actuation point. So typing SMS has become much more pleasant.

I was also pleased with the change in the design of the five-position pseudo-navipad above numeric keypad. It had a very unique design with an overhanging key in the middle. The element looks stylish and is more functional. By the way, each side of the pseudo-navipad in desktop mode activates some function. The “up” button brings up the audio player, the “right” button brings up FM radio, the “down” button brings up the phone book, and the “right” button allows you to write an SMS. Conveniently, all the buttons are customizable, so you can assign a function of your choice to each side. “Green” and “red” buttons (by the way, they are not marked in any color on the phone), as well as two function keys changed only the form, but are responsible for the same functions.

The keyboard has metal stripes

There are only three connectors on the huge side panel of the phone. On the right side there is a Micro-USB, which is used to charge the phone and connect to a computer. At the bottom is a standard USB that can charge other devices, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This fact is very positive. It was proposed to output sound using the same Mini-USB, which was used for charging and connecting to a computer. We already recalled the terrible “one-ear” headset of the previous model. The problem was aggravated by the fact that replacing it with something else was problematic: finding a headset with a Mini-USB connector on sale is quite a task. In principle, there is no such problem. Even if you don’t like the standard headset, you can find a replacement in any store. True, on the Internet the author of this material came across the opinion that although this connector is of a standard size, it has some unusual polarity and other headsets will not work with it. We didn’t have another 3.5mm headset at the time of the test, but regular headphones worked without problems, so most likely everything will be fine with compatibility.

We cannot help but pay attention to another seemingly minor fact that has caused a serious dispute on the user forum. The model had a small flashlight on the top end, which was turned on and off by holding the central key of the pseudo-navipad. For some reason it was removed. The debate is whether this is considered a minus. On the one hand, it’s good when you have a device in your pocket that can at least somehow illuminate you in the dark, on the other hand, even during the test we noticed that the flashlight is a single-LED flashlight and provides very little light. If you just held the phone out in your hand and turned on the screen backlight, the light was no less, so we wouldn’t regret the disappearance of the flashlight, especially since the screen has become larger and brighter and if something happens you can use its backlight.

Technical features

Like its predecessor, it has the ability to work with two SIM cards. Two years ago, when it came out, this was a cool feature for a budget phone, but today other inexpensive models already have three SIMs, so you won’t surprise anyone with two. Alas, work with two SIM cards remained consistent. That is, if you are talking on one, the other is completely blocked at this time. This is not very convenient, but it is a common phenomenon for state employees.

SIM cards, according to tradition, are located behind the battery, and in order to remove them, the phone must be turned off. Next to the SIM there is a connector for microSD cards. The one was the same, but its presence in it was doubtful. Multimedia capabilities tended to zero, so why additional memory? - another thing, it’s very convenient to listen to music on it, so the ability to expand the memory is very useful.

Like the first generation model, the most important hardware feature of the phone is the battery. This is the main pride and main feature of the entire series, which allows it to compete with cheaper models. The battery was already 2000 mAh, which, according to the manufacturer, gave 16 hours of talk time and up to 80 (!!!) days in standby mode. Even with active use, the phone needed to be charged once every 3-4 weeks. Compare this to smartphones, which, if left unplugged at night, mostly die the next morning.

Dual SIM, memory card and battery

With the change of generations, the company’s engineers decided to amaze with the battery capacity until the end. By that time, the Xenium line had already included smartphones with a 2900 mAh battery, and it was decided to use it in the budget push-button device. That is, even compared to its long-lived predecessor, the energy reserve has increased by almost one and a half times. It is clear that the consumption of the new model has also increased slightly (at least because of the larger screen), but the autonomy characteristics are even more impressive. Now the manufacturer claims talk time at 40 hours, and standby time at 100 days. How long does it last during actual use? With moderate use, you will have to charge the phone once every 4-5 weeks. The author read a very revealing joke on the phone user form. One of the owners complained that he was constantly losing charge. Of course, you need it once a month, and you simply have time to forget where you put it last time.

I can’t help but allow myself a remark. This review was written at the time it was announced new iPhone 6. Its top-end and most expensive version has a battery capacity... about 2900 mAh, which caused a sensation among users - of course, such standalone smartphone. And even if the comparison is not very fair, it has a battery of such a volume, but it costs several times less and in terms of autonomy it will outlast a dozen (if not more) charged iPhones.

Of course, such a large supply of energy may seem unnecessary to many. But, firstly, the phone is very convenient for travelers and lovers of hiking (no need to carry a charger and worry that the battery will run out along the way), and secondly, it can transfer its vast reserve of energy to another device via USB.

By the way, about this useful function We will go into more detail in, where we will look at the basic principles of working with the phone, as well as the features of its interface and software.
