HP Pavilion is a good “multimedia” laptop that leaves a pleasant impression, even despite the fact that we tested a relatively inexpensive modification, the HP Pavilion 15-n029sr. The main components of this configuration are AMD processor A10-5745M and discrete video AMD Radeon 8670M. Of course, the processor also has a built-in graphics core, which can work in tandem with an external one.

In addition, “under the hood” there are 8 GB of RAM and hard drive volume 1 TB. It’s quite a decent configuration, which will cost quite a bit of money: in the post-Soviet space, retail for a laptop costs from 24 to 28 thousand rubles at the time of writing (or $650-800, if you prefer conventional units).

⇡ Appearance

The design of the HP Pavilion 15 is generally boring - at least by today's standards. The only thing that enlivens the overall picture a little is the rear part of the case, which rises above the plane of the working surface, in which the connecting loops are “hidden”.

The surface of the lid is glossy. Fortunately, the manufacturer made it silver instead of black, so fingerprints, dust and scratches are not too noticeable. Concealing minor imperfections works especially well thanks to the texture of small white dots. Upon closer inspection, these dots look a little “cheap,” but once you take a step away from the laptop and appreciate its appearance from that distance, the texture begins to add a certain charm to the laptop.

Inside is a kingdom of gloss. The work area, the chiclet keyboard backing, and even the frame around the display are glossy. On workspace a pattern of gray dots is also applied, similar to that, which is used in the design of the lid. And it works here too: thanks to this trick, fingerprints are not noticeable. But the keyboard backing and frame are devoid of texture - and on these surfaces the “fingers” stand out very much.

The laptop has a keyboard with an additional numeric keypad, which makes entering numerical information much easier. There are almost no compressed letter keys; even the long-suffering [е] was not trimmed. In fact, only two arrow keys turned out to be compressed in height - “up” and “down”. But still there are mistakes: for example, the key turned out to be too short, so when touch typing, the finger keeps hitting the key. If you apply very strong pressure to any of the central keys, the base of the keyboard bends slightly. However, with normal typing the lack of rigidity keyboard unit almost does not appear. In general, the keyboard turned out to be pleasant - the key travel is of medium hardness, the actuation moment is clearly felt, and the noise when pressed is low.

The touch panel is slightly recessed into the body and is dotted with raised dots that make it easy to determine its boundaries by touch. The manipulator keys are highlighted, which is good in itself. An additional advantage is their large size. But a very hard ride and a loud click when triggered is a significant minus.

The left side of the laptop is the busiest. There is a socket for connecting the power supply, complemented by an indicator, a slot for a security lock, an Ethernet port, a ventilation grille, an HDMI port, USB pair 3.0, as well as a memory card reader.

On the right side surface, at first glance, free space more than enough, but this impression is deceptive, because the drive takes up a lot of space optical disks. There is also a USB 2.0 port, a combined audio jack for connecting headphones and a microphone, and power and drive access indicators. Installing LEDs on the side has already become a good tradition for HP laptops, because with this arrangement the LEDs do not distract from work, but, if necessary, are clearly visible even with the lid closed.

The front side of the case is empty. At the back, only the connecting loops and the battery are visible.

Above the keyboard there is a pair of speakers, as well as a power key with an integrated light indicator in the form of an icon, actually, power. There is a webcam on the top edge of the display, as well as a pair of microphones.

The bottom of the laptop is flat, made of standard black plastic with a rough surface. On the one hand, it very actively collects fingerprints, which are not easy to clean. On the other hand, this is not at all the part of the laptop that anyone will admire.

As for upgrade options, only one compartment is available to the user, which contains two slots for SO-DIMM memory modules and a connector for wireless adapter half-height Mini Card form factor. The body rests on four massive legs. Thanks to the use of the right material and the successful shape of the legs, the laptop tenaciously holds on to glass and lacquered tabletops, and even on a regular office desk, moving it from its place is not so easy. In general, the probability of the HP Pavilion 15 being pulled off the table by catching on the cable connected to it is low.

We have already noted that understanding the HP laptop classification system and finding at least some logic in the mysterious numbers and letters appearing in model names is by no means a trivial task. Therefore, we will not guess what exactly is hidden behind the abbreviation “p159nr” and will immediately get to the point. Let us only note that the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop belongs to the category of inexpensive 15-inch laptop models for the home. Interestingly, it is not so easy to find information about this model on the HP website. That is, information about this laptop, but it cannot be found through the catalog of HP Pavilion series laptop models. Nevertheless, the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr model has been sold on the Russian market for a long time.

Options and packaging

The HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop comes in a simple, rather nondescript cardboard box.

The scope of delivery is minimal. In addition to the laptop itself, it comes quick guide user configuration and a 65 W (19.5 V; 3.33 A) power adapter.

The basis of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop is a dual-core processor. This processor has a nominal clock speed of 1.7 GHz, which can be boosted up to 2.7 GHz in Turbo Boost. Its L3 cache size is 3 MB and its power consumption is 15 W.

The Intel Core i5-4210U processor has an integrated graphics core Intel HD Graphics 4400, which operates at a nominal frequency of 200 MHz, and the maximum core frequency is 1 GHz (in Turbo Boost mode).

In addition to the processor graphics core The laptop also has a discrete Nvidia video card GeForce 840M with 2 GB DDR3 memory.

HP Pavilion 15-p159nr is equipped with 4 GB of DDR3L-1600 RAM. Moreover, only one memory module is installed, so the memory operates in single-channel mode. Note that, in principle, the laptop supports up to 16 GB of memory, and the motherboard has two SO-DIMM slots, however, installing another memory module in a free slot is very difficult due to design features laptop. The point is that if you remove bottom panel case, you will not be able to access the memory modules. To do this, you will also have to remove it yourself. system board, which is quite difficult.

The storage subsystem of this laptop includes a 2.5-inch thin (7 mm) Seagate ST500LT012 HDD with a capacity of 500 GB (WDC WD10SPCX-60HWST0).

The laptop also has an optical drive. In our case, it was an HP DVDRW DU8A5SHL drive.

The communication capabilities of the laptop are determined by the presence of a Broadcom BCM43142 wireless network adapter (802.11b/g/n). This adapter wireless communication also has a built-in bluetooth module 4.0.

In addition, the laptop also has a Realtek RTL8139 (10/100 Mbit/s) Ethernet network controller. In general, it has become fashionable among American manufacturers (Dell, HP) lately equip inexpensive laptops with Fast Ethernet controllers, rather than the usual Gigabit Ethernet.

The audio subsystem of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop is based on the Realtek ALC290 HDA codec, and two built-in speakers are used for acoustics. But the laptop has only one audio jack, but a combined one. That is, it can be used both to connect headphones and to connect a microphone.

The battery in this laptop is removable and has a capacity of 41.4 Wh (2620 mAh).

It remains to add that the laptop is equipped with a webcam with a built-in microphone, which is located above the screen.

Appearance and ergonomics of the case

The HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop case is made of plastic. The outside color of the case is silver.

The surface of the laptop cover is textured. Fingerprints do not remain on such a surface and it never looks dirty. The traditional HP logo is placed in the center of the laptop lid.

It should be noted that the laptop lid lacks rigidity. It flexes and bends easily. And with such deformation, characteristic spots appear on the screen.

The bottom surface of the laptop case is exactly the same silver color as the lid, however, this surface is not textured. This is ordinary plastic painted matte silver. On the bottom surface of the case there are only ventilation grids.

The interior design of the laptop is no longer silver, but black. The surface framing the keyboard and touchpad is made of plastic, which cannot be called matte, but cannot be called glossy either. It's somewhere between matte and glossy. But the screen frame is made of classic matte plastic.

If we talk about the design flaws of the laptop case, it is worth noting the sharp edge formed by the working surface and the beveled front end surface. This is uncomfortable when typing because the sharp edge rubs your palms and wrists.

In the left top corner The working surface has one single button to turn on the laptop. Above the keyboard there is a decorative grid of two speakers.

The keyboard on this laptop is black. But we will talk about it in detail, as well as about the touchpad, further.

The system for attaching the laptop screen to the body consists of two hinges located at the bottom of the screen. This mounting system allows you to tilt the screen itself relative to the plane of the keyboard at an angle of approximately 120 degrees.

The hinge has a fairly tight movement, which allows you to fix the screen in any position.

On the left side of the case there are two USB 3.0 port connectors, an HDMI connector, a slot for SD memory cards, an RJ-45 connector, a ventilation grille for the cooling system radiator, and a connector for connecting the power adapter.

On the right side of the laptop body there is a connector USB port 2.0, combined minijack audio jack (headphones, microphone), Kensington lock connector and optical drive tray. In addition, there are two miniature LED indicator(activities hard drive and power indicator).

Note that all three USB ports are the same color (black), but the USB 3.0 ports are located only on the left side of the case.

Disassembly capabilities

Despite the fact that the bottom panel of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop can be removed, it is not so easy to gain access to all system components. By removing the bottom panel of the case, you can only get to the HDD, wireless module and optical drive. But in order to gain access to the memory modules and cooling system, you will also have to remove the motherboard, which is very difficult. That is, you can add another memory module to the laptop, but you will have to tinker.

Input devices

Keyboard

The HP Pavilion 15-p159nr series laptops use an island-type keyboard with increased distance between the keys.

The main keys on the keyboard have a size of 15x15 mm. The keys themselves are black, and the letters on them are white and clearly visible. The keyboard is not backlit, but there is a separate NumPad.

The keyboard is slightly recessed relative to the surface that frames it. Moreover, the surface under the keyboard is the same as the front surface of the case, and holes are simply made in this surface for each key of the keyboard.

The base under the keyboard is quite rigid. That is, if the keyboard flexes when you press the keys, it is very slight and only when you press it deliberately hard.

In terms of quality, we would rate this keyboard as good, but not great. One of the advantages is the fact that it is quite quiet and the keys do not make a clicking sound when typing.

But the disadvantage of the keyboard is that the keys are poorly spring-loaded and the pressing of a key is practically not felt. In addition, the up and down keys are very narrow, which is uncomfortable. These two keys take the place of one standard key.

The key layout on this keyboard is standard. The top row of keys traditionally has two functions: either the traditional F1-F12, or laptop control functions. By default, the traditional F1-F12 keys work in combination with function key Fn, and the laptop control keys - directly. However, this operating mode can be switched in the BIOS.

Touchpad

The HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop uses a clickpad with simulated key presses. The dimensions of the working area of this clickpad are 110×66 mm, which is quite enough for comfortable work.

The touch surface is slightly recessed and is almost no different in color from the rest of the surface of the front part of the case. The sensitivity of the touchpad is not satisfactory.

This clickpad supports the MultiTouch function and naturally supports multi-touch gestures for Windows management 8.

Overall, the clickpad is convenient and deserves high praise.

Sound path

As already noted, the audio subsystem of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr convertible laptop is based on the Realtek ALC290 HDA codec, and the laptop itself has two built-in speakers, which are located in the rear of the case and are brought up, under the screen.

According to subjective feelings, the acoustics in this laptop are not bad. The maximum volume level is quite sufficient, and when playing music tracks the sound is rich and without rattling.

To evaluate the output sound path, intended for connecting headphones or external acoustics, we resorted to instrumental testing using an external sound card Creative E-MU 0204 USB and RightMark Audio Analyzer 6.3.0 utilities. Testing was carried out in stereo mode, 24-bit/44.1 kHz.

According to the test results, the audio path in the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop received a “Good” rating.

The full report with testing results in the RMAA 6.3.0 program is posted on a separate page, followed by a short report.

Screen

The HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop uses an AU Optronics AUO33ED TN matrix with LED backlight based on white LEDs. This matrix has a matte finish, and the diagonal size, as already noted, is 15.6 inches. The screen resolution is 1920×1080 pixels.

The matrix in this laptop does not flicker throughout the entire brightness range, that is, the screen brightness is controlled by changing the brightness level of the LED backlight.

According to our measurements, the maximum brightness level on a white background is 315 cd/m², and the minimum level is 9 cd/m². At the maximum brightness level, the gamma value is 2.69.

The color gamut of the LCD screen in the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop covers 76% of sRGB and 55.5% of Adobe RGB. The color gamut is 81.6% of sRGB and 56.2% of Adobe RGB. The result is pretty mediocre.

Such a narrow color gamut of the screen is explained, among other things, by not very high-quality light filters, which strongly mix the components of the primary colors with each other, which affects the narrowing of the spectrum.

The color temperature of the LCD screen of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop also leaves much to be desired. So, at 100% white it is approximately 6700 K, but as the proportion of white decreases, the color temperature increases. Moreover, in dark colors (with a white proportion of less than 10%), our spectrophotometer can no longer measure color temperature correctly.

The increase in color temperature in the transition from light to dark tones is due to the fact that in dark areas on the gray scale the proportion blue. In addition, the proportion of red color is underestimated throughout the gray scale. In a word, the primary colors here are not at all balanced.

The color rendering accuracy (delta E) of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop screen does not exceed 8 across the entire gray scale, which is an acceptable result.

If we talk about the viewing angles of the screen, then they leave much to be desired. When looking at an image at an angle horizontally and vertically, the color is distorted and the contrast drops significantly. In short, the screen in this laptop is of poor quality.

Work under load and in idle mode

In idle mode, as it should be, the processor frequency in the laptop is 800 MHz (naturally, we are talking about a balanced power consumption scheme), that is, to Intel technologies SpeedStep has no complaints. The processor temperature in this mode is approximately 40°C.

When the processor is loaded with the Stress CPU test (AIDA64 utility Extreme Edition- system stability test), which uses integer calculations, the processor frequency is 2.4 GHz (remember that for Intel processor Core i5-4210U maximum frequency in Intel Turbo Boost mode is 2.7 GHz). The processor temperature in this loading mode increases to 55 °C.

When the processor is loaded with the Stress FPU test, which uses floating point calculations and heats up the processor to a greater extent, the maximum processor frequency drops to 2.2 GHz, and the temperature of its cores increases to 64 °C.

In the mode of simultaneously loading the processor cores with the Stress FPU test, the graphics core of the processor and GPU In the Stress GPU test, the frequency of the processor cores jumps from 1.2 to 2.3 GHz, and the temperature of its cores is approximately 67°C.

Memory subsystem and storage performance

According to the AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark utility, the memory write speed is 11341 MB/s, and the read speed is 11242 MB/s. For DDR3-1600 memory (peak throughput 12800 MB/s) in single-channel operating mode is a typical result.

To measure HDD performance in the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop, we used several utilities: ATTO Disk Benchmark, CrystalDiskMark and HD Tune Pro.

The ATTO Disk Benchmark utility determines maximum speed sequential reading and writes at just under 100 MB/s, which is typical for modern 2.5-inch HDDs.

The CrystalDiskMark utility gives approximately the same results.

Here are also the results of testing the RAID array using the HD Tune Pro utility:

Noise level

The noise level was measured in a special sound-absorbing chamber, and the sensitive microphone was positioned relative to the laptop so as to simulate the typical position of the user's head. The HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop can be classified as medium in terms of noise level.

According to our measurements, the noise level emitted by the laptop in idle mode is 25 dBA (with a background level of 16 dBA). This is very low level noise, and it is simply impossible to isolate it from the background, that is, to “hear” the laptop in this mode.

In stress CPU load mode using the AIDA64 utility, the noise level emitted by the laptop increases to 37 dBA. This is already a lot, and at this noise level the laptop will be audible even during the day in a typical office space.

Load scenarioNoise level
Idle mode25 dBA
37 dBA

Battery life

We measured the operating time of the ultrabook in offline mode using our method using the iXBT Battery Benchmark v.1.0 script. Let us remind you that we measure battery life at a screen brightness of 100 cd/m². During testing, the power consumption mode was set to “Balanced”, and the wireless communication module was turned off.

So, the test results are as follows:

Load scenarioOpening hours
Watch video3 hours 54 minutes
Working with text and viewing photos6 hours 35 minutes

It must be stated that the battery life of this laptop is quite average. That is, it is not small, but not large either. The laptop is enough to watch a couple of movies offline or work with office applications for almost the entire working day.

Performance Research

To evaluate the performance of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop, we used our methodology using the iXBT Application Benchmark 2015 and iXBT Game Benchmark 2015 benchmarks. For clarity, we also added to the table the results of testing the 15-inch Dell Inspiron 15 3548-8208 laptop on an Intel Core i5-5200U processor.

The test results in the iXBT Application Benchmark 2015 are shown in the table.

So, as you can see from the testing results, in terms of integrated performance, the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop is 20% inferior to our reference system based on the Intel Core i5-3317U processor. But if you compare Dell laptops Inspiron 15 3548-8208 and HP Pavilion 15-p159nr, then their performance, despite different processors, is almost the same.

In general, the weakest point in the configuration of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop is the data storage subsystem and insufficient RAM. And if, for example, we replace the HDD with an SSD, then the laptop will surpass our reference system in terms of integrated performance. Well, with HDD, the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop occupies an intermediate position between devices in the entry-level and mid-level categories.

Now let's look at the test results in games. All gaming tests were performed at a resolution of 1920x1080 and using an Nvidia GeForce 840M GPU. The game testing results are shown in the table.

As you can see from the testing results, only with game settings at minimum quality there are two games that you can comfortably play (with a result of more than 40 FPS). That is, this is absolutely not a gaming solution and, by and large, the Nvidia GeForce 840M video card is in this case is not needed, because it is of little use.

Conclusions

So let's summarize. From a purely external perspective, the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop looks very good. And if you consider that it costs 32 thousand rubles (at the time of the announcement of the article) and has a screen resolution of 1920x1080, then you immediately begin to look at this model more closely.

But in reality, everything turns out to be not as good as we would like. The screen, of course, has a resolution of 1920x1080, and moreover, it is matte, but the quality of the screen, alas, is so-so. Narrow color gamut, poorly balanced primary colors, incorrect color temperature and poor viewing angles. That is, an ordinary cheap TN matrix.

There are also complaints about the design of the laptop. Thus, the working surface and the front beveled end of the laptop form a sharp edge. It may look good, but from a practical point of view it is very inconvenient. In addition, the laptop lid does not have sufficient rigidity and is easily deformed.

Let us also remind you that upgrading a laptop yourself is associated with certain difficulties. You can change the HDD or Wi-Fi module, you can even change the optical drive, but getting to the memory slots is quite difficult.

Regarding the performance of the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr laptop, this is the case when the laptop can be classified as a solution entry level, and as a mid-level solution. That is, in terms of performance, the HP Pavilion 15-p159nr is right on the border between entry-level and mid-range.

If you change the HDD to an SSD and increase the amount of RAM, you can significantly improve the performance of this laptop. But no upgrade, of course, will make this model a gaming one. For games, this solution with an Nvidia GeForce 840M video card is not at all suitable.

Previously, gaming laptops could easily be distinguished from other devices by the thickness of the case and the howling of the cooling system. Today's realities make it possible to pack a good “filling” into some budget model and put it on the counter at a very affordable price.

Let's try to figure out how things are going with the Pavilion series from the famous brand using the example of a very remarkable gadget - the HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC-Gaming. Let's consider the main characteristics of the model and the features of the device, taking into account the opinions of experts and reviews of ordinary laptop owners.

Design

Color difference is a very important thing for gadgets of this kind, so the brand could not do without external differentiation between the “civilian and sports” models. The case, black as night with a matte finish, is crowned with a slightly prominent company logo. The HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC-Gaming workspace features a stylish bright green backlight.

Regarding appearance, body materials and overall dimensions, then in this regard the laptop is very good. If we compare it with a similar brother in the same segment, the GL552JX from Asus, we will see that the latter is much thicker, heavier and made of some dubious material. While the HP Pavilion 15 PC-Gaming has a tactilely pleasant body that is difficult to leave fingerprints on. In addition, the lid looks monolithic and is securely fixed in any position convenient for the user.

Of course, the opening of 135 degrees is not the most outstanding value, so using the device on the road is not very convenient: the screen looks straight into your chest, and the viewing angles are not enough for normal work from your knees.

Interfaces

In terms of connectors and interfaces, there is nothing to complain about - everything is there and in its place, so you can connect almost any peripheral. Unlike conventional models from this line, the HP Pavilion 15 Notebook with the “gaming” prefix is equipped with an optical drive on the left side.

And the point here is not even that such an accessory is completely unnecessary today, it’s just that the ventilation grille has moved from the left side to the right, and now when playing your hand is constantly exposed to a stream of hot air. Reviews from owners are full of phrases of indignation about this: a reputable brand made such a serious design mistake in an expensive model.

Access to the inside of the laptop

As for upgrading the HP Pavilion 15 (the model's characteristics allow this), this is quite a troublesome undertaking. Removable battery- this, of course, is a pleasant moment, but in order to install another hard drive or add RAM strips, you will have to disassemble the entire bottom of the device, unscrewing numerous screws. Moreover, these are not all the nuances; next you will need to pry off the keyboard, turn the gadget face down several times and listen to the latches.

This activity is far from being for the faint of heart, especially since all these difficult procedures still carry the risk of damage to the case and internal components. This problem Users have repeatedly raised the issue of upgrading the device in their reviews, scolding the company’s engineers for such serious “protection” on the HP Pavilion 15.

Display

The screen characteristics are good, but for standard models of the series, and they are clearly not suitable for the gaming version. The laptop is equipped with an already middle-aged matrix, which is included in budget gadgets - AU Optronics. Her technical capabilities were outdated last year.

The output picture is not bright enough, with glossy highlights and mediocre color rendition. And the very modest screen resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels also suffers from poor viewing angles. By and large, the manufacturer has transferred the display from a laptop costing 20,000 rubles to a gadget with powerful hardware, but already 4 times more expensive. The result was a seemingly high-performance, but inferior HP Pavilion 15. Reviews from owners have repeatedly noted this deplorable situation with the outdated matrix, so the company recently released a variable model with Full HD scanning, where the graphic characteristics were noticeably improved. For some reason, the screen remained the same glossy, but other problematic issues were eliminated.

Sound

Hewlett-Packard recently changed its main supplier of audio systems for laptops. Previously, Beats Audio was a partner, but today its place is taken by the venerable Bang & Olufsen.

It would seem that this is the solution to many problems, but the specific slots for acoustics and the B&O brand badge are not as impressive as they should be for this level. Of course, the speakers are trying their best: the sound is loud, without cacophony, but only with some kind of poisonous admixture. The only way out in this case is to uncheck the “B&O Play” function, which is installed by default, and enjoy, albeit not so loud, but high-quality sound without any extremes.

As for working with the headset, the HP Pavilion 15 has no problems: everything is clear, at the same level and without extraneous noise. Judging by user reviews, most of them prefer to connect external audio systems (even the same B&O) or use high-quality headphones.

Input devices

The HP Pavilion 15 laptop is fully equipped smart keyboard and the same competent touchpad. No critical problems with control were noticed: you quickly get used to the working area, and after a few minutes it becomes like home.

The keys do not slip during operation, and the matte finish protects them from fingerprints and dust. Judging by the reviews, the pressure cannot be called truly gaming, but the clarity is still impressive. Green lighting looks very beautiful, especially at night. The only omission of the manufacturer is the lack of adjustment.

Among the minor shortcomings of the HP Pavilion 15, one can note the lack of a function to disable the touchpad (it is very difficult to play in stealth mode) and it is unclear why the F1-F12 keys were converted for multimedia tasks.

The touchpad can be called average in sensitivity: it is impossible to highlight any serious disadvantages, but it is still far from the level of “MacBooks” and “Ultrabooks”.

Performance

The HP Pavilion 15 laptop is equipped with modern processor from Intel of the latest generation - Core i7. There is clearly not enough RAM on board - only 8 GB, so it is better to immediately take care of buying another stick.

As for the graphics component, the HP Pavilion 15 pleasantly surprises. The powerful GTX 950M chip with 4 GB GDDR3 memory makes itself felt: everything modern games go without any brakes maximum settings. Many owners correctly note in their reviews that it is better to have GDDR5 memory with 2 GB than GDDR3 with four, but for a matrix with such a screen resolution this will be too much. By and large, it turns out that the “filling” is working hard, but the picture, due to the outdated matrix, simply cannot realize itself to the fullest.

If you are lucky enough to become the owner of an improved display with Full HD layout, then the graphics settings will need to be reset to medium in order to play comfortably.

The hard drive can't boast of anything special - it's an ordinary fast SSD-class drive with typical characteristics.

Games in a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels at high settings (FPS):

  • "The Witcher 32 - 32.
  • "Crisis" 3 - 64.
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 41.
  • "GTA 5" - 61.

Autonomous operation

Long battery life when watching high-definition videos is one of the main marketing moves at presentations of this type of device. If we compare our respondent with its closest competitors, GL552JX from Asus and V-Nitro from Acer, then a 40% increase in time without a network is excellent result. Such enviable autonomy was achieved due to the introduction of hardware acceleration in the new generation of Intel processors, which is good news.

Naturally, in the case of games this figure is noticeably lower, and fluctuates between 8-10% increase. Perhaps many will find the difference between 1 hour 30 minutes (full CPU load) and 1:15 funny, but nevertheless the fact is a fact: the gaming “Pavilion” is ahead of its competitors in terms of battery life.

As for the opinions of device owners, judging by the reviews, users did not notice a noticeable difference, especially since they run serious games on the power cord, and this indicator is far from critical for real gamers.

Estimated price - from 70 to 90 thousand rubles.
