If an error occurs when starting a VPN connection, you need to remember its three-digit code. 1. In the firewall, you must open TCP port 1723 and IP protocol 47 (GRE), or, if required by the firewall settings, enter the IP address of your VPN server (IP is indicated in the client information)..
2. Check whether there is a physical connection (whether the network card lights on the back panel of your computer are on), whether network cable into the connector on the network card and in the outlet (if available). Then check if the local network connection is enabled. To do this, click the "Start" button, then "Control Panel", then "Network Connections". In the window that appears, find “Local Area Connection” and turn it on if it was turned off. Check TCP/IP protocol settings – Click “Start” -> “Run”. In the line, enter the command “cmd”, in the DOS window that opens, enter the command “ipconfig” - it should display your IP address, subnet mask and default gateway, if this information is not there it means that the local network is turned off or there is no physical connection.
3. Make sure that the VPN server address is correct in the VPN connection settings (VPN-Properties->General->Computer name or destination IP address).
4. Check the passage of the signal using the ping command to your gateway, and then to your VPN server.
Click the "Start" -> "Run" button. In the line, enter the command “cmd”, in the DOS window that opens, enter the command:
ping 192.168.100.254

where in in this case 80.252.128.110 is the VPN server, and 192.168.100.254 is the gateway address. You can find out your access server and gateway address in the “subscriber profile” or using the “ipconfig” command (see point 2).
If in the DOS window that opens you see something like “ Specified node unavailable" or "The timeout interval for the request has been exceeded", then there may be problems on your computer or on the line. If the node responds at the specified speed (usually this happens quickly), then most likely the problem is with your computer. In any case, check the second point (2).

Errors 604, 605, 608, 609, 615, 620

Errors 611, 612

Error 617

Windows is in the process of connecting to the Internet, or an internal Windows error has occurred.

Wait a few minutes. If the connection is not established and the error persists when connecting again, restart your computer.

Error 619

The VPN connection security settings are incorrectly configured, VPN traffic is blocked on the way to the gateway, or the VPN settings have not taken effect.

In the properties of the VPN connection, open the "Security" tab - "Normal (recommended settings)" should be selected and the "Data encryption required (otherwise disable)" checkbox should be unchecked. Restart your computer and try connecting again.
You can also delete an existing VPN connection and create a new one automatically using NetHelper.

Error 624

The RASPHONE.PBK file is missing in (Windows folder)/system32/RAS or... Documents and Settings/(your user or all users)/Application Data/Microsoft/Network/Connections/Pbk. If the file is present, then try renaming it to something else, for example RASPHONE.OLD, you can also run rasphone.exe, it may help.
There is a ban on creating a connection. - Allow users to create new connections.
>Access to the folder Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Microsoft/Network/Connections/Pbk is denied - Open access to the folder. But most likely the problem can be solved this way: uncheck the “Read Only” option in the properties of the Rasphone.pbk file.

Error 629

This type of error occurs when there is no connection between your computer and the access server.

This error occurs if your login and password are already connected (remember if you didn’t let someone you know use your Internet), if not, then this connection is not broken on the server. To do this, wait 10 minutes, and try to connect again after this time... If nothing helps on the 3rd attempt, then I advise you to contact support.

Error 650

Server remote access doesn't answer. The Internet access server is unavailable.

Check whether "Local Area Connection" is enabled, whether the network card is working, whether the network cable is working, whether the client's IP address is set correctly in the IP connection settings.

Error 651

If you are connecting to a virtual private network (VPN), you may have configured the connection with an incorrect TCP/IP address, or the server you are attempting to connect to is not currently available.

Error 678

The connection could not be established because remote computer did not respond to the connection request. Follow these steps:

Check that the host name or IP address of the destination server is correct and try connecting again. To view connection properties, click required connection Right-click, select Properties, and then view the information on the General tab. For more information, contact technical support.

Error 721

The remote computer is not responding.

This issue may occur if your network firewall does not allow GRE traffic. GRE is an IP protocol 47. PPTP uses GRE for data tunneling. To resolve this issue, you should configure your network firewall to allow GRE protocol 47. You should also ensure that your network firewall allows TCP traffic on port 1723. To establish a VPN connection using PPTP, both of these conditions must be met.

Error 735

The requested address was rejected by the server.

You have configured your VPN connection incorrectly to access the Internet. Most likely in the TCP/IP settings VPN connections you have registered a specific IP address when it should be allocated automatically.

Error 737

The local and remote computers participating in the PPP session are the same computer. This means that a device, such as a modem, on the line receives the reflected characters back. Try performing a reset operation on your devices.

For servers from other manufacturers, this may mean that remote server attempts to log in using teletypewriter (TTY) mode before connecting. Setting up the terminal when using it after establishing a connection can be done on the security tab

Errors 741 - 743

Encryption settings are incorrectly configured.

Go to the VPN connection settings, and in the “Security” tab, disable the “data encryption” item.

Error 769

Most likely, the network adapter is disabled in Device Manager.

Turn on the network adapter and try connecting again.

Error 789

Incorrect VPN connection type selected

Go to the VPN connection settings and on the "Network" tab, from the "VPN Type" list, select "Automatic". Try connecting again.

Error 800

Problem connecting to VPN

Possible reasons:

The firewall blocks outgoing requests for VPN connections, which in principle happens, but not so often.
For some reason the request does not reach the server, i.e. Perhaps the backbone equipment of your segment does not allow the request to pass due to a load or failure.
The server sends a response stating that it is impossible to connect because... There are currently a large number of simultaneous connection attempts from your account.
For some reason your set of equipment does not work.

Possible fixes:

Check that it is enabled and running at this point in time.
Check the signal passage using the ping command to the VPN server.
Restart your computer

Error: 604, 605, 608, 609, 615, 620

Description:
The Windows Remote Access subsystem phone book file and the current Remote Network Access configuration are incompatible with each other.

Remedy method:
Restart your computer. If the error persists, delete and re-create the VPN connection.

Error: 611

Description:

Remedy method:
Restart your computer and make sure that the local network is functioning normally on your computer.
If the error does not disappear, contact technical service. support.

Error: 612

Description:
The internal Windows network configuration is not configured correctly.

Remedy method:
Similar to error 611.
Alternatively, the error may be caused by insufficient resources (memory) on your computer.
Try closing running programs.

Error: 617

Description:
Windows is in the process of connecting to the Internet, or an internal Windows error has occurred.

Remedy method:
Wait a few minutes.
If the connection is not established and the error persists when connecting again, restart your computer.

Error: 619

Description:

Description:

Error: 642

Description:
Your computer is assigned a NetBIOS name that is already in use on the network.

Remedy method:
Change the computer name in the properties of “My Computer” in the “Identification” section.
