This means that you can sneak by lightly pressing the “W” key, and movements in Far Cry 5 will be smooth and not like you're controlling a drunk character. Software, which adds analog support to games, uses good AI and is designed no worse than the keyboard itself. The kit comes with several additional switches that can be used if you somehow magically break the basic ones, which are designed to last 100 million clicks.

Wooting One is constantly improving, so it was just recently added RGB backlight, making the model even more beautiful. Interestingly, the company initially launched its project on Kickstarter, after which it pleased us with such an excellent product as Wooting One.

Roccat Vulcan 120

Roccat presented something so unique that it is rarely seen on the gaming keyboard market. This is the first model released by the company to feature Titan Switches designed from the ground up, designed for gamers who want light, precise key presses while still maintaining a good feel. Vulcan 120 is a breath of fresh air in the gaming peripherals market.

The keyboard is really great. The switches aren't exactly the same as the Cherry MX, but the difference is so slight that the Vulcan's other features outweigh any other minor issues that might arise with this model.

Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum

If you're not a fan of the multi-colored Cherry MX switches, then Logitech is ready to offer you its alternative in the form of the Romer G. They are slightly smaller than their competitor (standard Cherry MX), although not as much as the faster Rapidfire. If you compare the Logitech Romer G with Cherry, they seem a little muffled, due to which the keyboard can be called quieter.

The G810 Orion Spectrum has a simple, elegant design, so the model immediately joined my list of favorites (especially when it comes to the switch). If we talk about the G910, then it seems to me that this is just a slightly more “ostentatious” version of the G810. The Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum has the same finish, and the service media control buttons for the K70 are placed on a separate panel. Which is a huge plus for me personally.

Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2

Razer uses its own switches in its gaming keyboards. For the Blackwidow Chroma V2 model, three types of switches are available: green, orange and yellow, which are practically no different from the blue Cherry MX, brown and silent, respectively. We tested the yellow version, they have a fairly fast response speed, and the color itself is not as bright as Cherry MX.

The Blackwidow Chroma V2 has the same design as the previous model, but the Blackwidow X is slimmer and more elegant. Unfortunately, Blackwidow still doesn't come with media buttons, and all services are integrated into function buttons.

While other manufacturers are trying to make the keys more stylish, the Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 has a clear font and no additional built-in elements, so the keyboard looks surprisingly simple. Therefore, the fact that the model does not have a separate panel with functional buttons does not make it worse. Despite this minor flaw, the Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 is an excellent keyboard, and the built-in palm rest is a highlight and is sure to please all gamers.

Logitech G513

The Logitech G513 has a palm rest made of memory foam material. Because of this, during use it feels like you are typing while floating in the air, especially thanks to the Romer G linear switches. But, unfortunately, you cannot connect the palm rest to the keyboard.

The G513, like the previous G413, has an aluminum coating, which significantly increases reliability. Thanks to the presence of RGB backlighting, when using the keyboard it begins to seem that the keys are literally floating above the metal surface. The Logitech G513 is well designed and has a more sophisticated design compared to other gaming devices. Which can't help but delight.

Unlike the G810 model (which we described just above), the G513 has a separate panel with media keys. But the proprietary Logitech Quality software gives us the opportunity to switch between different modes and use the secondary functions of some keys.

Wooting One

The Wooting One is not just a great compact gaming keyboard, it can compete with full-size models. With Flaretech Optical switches, you can transform the Wooting One from a regular numeric keypad into a fully analog device. Who needs those terribly awkward Xbox controllers? A keyboard and mouse combo is much better.

Wooting One hasn't lost ground since its release. A small team of enthusiasts is working on the keyboard, who actively listen to users' opinions and make all the necessary changes, adding new functionality and working on compatibility with a large number of products. Therefore, using the keyboard is a pleasure. Wooting One is an excellent compact keyboard with decent proprietary software, which can safely be called unique (considering the distribution method). All this was made possible thanks to the success of the idea on Kickstarter.

HyperX Alloy FPS

Some compact keyboard models are made without a number pad (on the right side), but thanks to HyperX and the fact that they made the Alloy FPS not much larger than the stripped-down versions. For many gamers, its absence is a real tragedy. Therefore, HyperX Alloy FPS is a great option for those who do not want to sacrifice precious keys.

Since the keyboard is considered compact, it does not have my favorite media keys, they are integrated with other buttons and work in combination. In addition, HyperX opted for a network adapter rather than a cable for direct connection to a computer, as is most often the case.

Despite this, the Alloy FPS is still a compact gaming keyboard with almost all the same features and mechanics as the standard models. Still, this model was an excellent choice to enter the peripheral market with. HyperX Alloy FPS is definitely worth the money.

Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro M

RGB LED switches are a good choice only for those who want rainbow lighting. But if you are looking for a keyboard with pure white light, then pay attention to the Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro M. The model is compact in size, but does not lack a numeric keypad.

Cooler Master removed the ones we were used to navigation buttons, integrating them into Numpad, which is quite convenient. Thanks to the built-in ARM processor, you can control the backlight directly from the keyboard, without waiting for the computer to fully boot.

Master Cooler MasterKeys Pro M comes with Cherry MX Red, Blue or Brown switches. In terms of design, the keyboard is quite ordinary, but at the same time it has a detachable USB cable. Convenient and no clutter on the table.

Razer Blackwidow Tournament Ed. Chroma V2

The Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 (...ugh) has almost the same design as the full size model. The only difference is the absence of a digital panel. The plastic component is similar to the neighboring model, but the Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2 has a nicer design.

Like HyperX and Corsair, there are models with three different mechanical switches to choose from: green, orange and yellow. They are well made and work flawlessly, the LED backlighting is bright, and the pad rests comfortably on your wrist. The fact that the keyboard does not have media keys is disappointing, but the model can safely be called compact. This is a truly great keyboard that you won't want to part with. Still, we had to do this in order to test the rest of the models on our list.

Logitech G213 Prodigy

Buying a cheap keyboard is a dangerous business. For a small amount (around $20), such a device will most likely quickly become unusable - from several keys sticking to complete breakdown. The miser pays twice. $50 might still be a bit too much for a gaming keyboard, but the Logitech G213 Prodigy is a great example of a device with an interesting design and other benefits.

The model belongs to the budget category, so don’t even dream about mechanical switches or a durable metal frame. Instead, the Logitech G213 Prodigy has its own Mech-Dome and plastic-like finish. They may be membrane switches, but the feel and responsiveness are the same as mechanical switches. In fact, the Logitech Mech-Dome is very similar to the Romer G, but more porous and dead.

Despite the plastic design, the G213 is quite durable. If you press hard in the center it will flex a little, but it looks pretty sturdy on the workbench. The model is equipped with a built-in wrist rest and a separate panel with media keys. Fans of RGB LED backlights will not be disappointed either. For them, the G213 has five lighting zones that can be customized to suit you. With its chic design and durable build, the Logitech G213 Prodigy is hardly budget-friendly, so it definitely deserves a place on the list of the best gaming devices.

Vava Mechanical

Challenger: Best Cheap Gaming Keyboard

The Vava brand can hardly be called well-known in the region computer peripherals. In their product range there is only one mouse and the mechanical keyboard of the same name “Vava” with a short but sonorous name. This is great universal model, for which you are unlikely to find any alternative. However, it does not have a separate panel with media keys or a wheel for adjusting the volume level. But there are powerful Kailh Blue switches, which are an excellent alternative to Cherry MX, especially in this price range.

I would also like to say something about the design. Thanks to the white lining, the RGB LEDs are quite bright and go well with the “gamer” key font. The same cannot be said about the upper indicators on the right. It is possible that this is the only aspect of the keyboard that directly screams of its cheapness. Because two of the three "LOCK" labels are in uppercase and the third is in lowercase...not that I care...NO...not at all.

Despite minor design flaws, the keyboard is able to give serious competition to other models in this price category, between high-end keyboards and those equipped with mech-brane switches. Unfortunately, the Vava isn't currently available in the UK or Russia, so gamers in those countries will have to choose from the other budget keyboards on our list (or have to wait for a good deal on the HyperX Alloy FPS).

cooler Master MasterKeys Lite L combo

Contender: Best Cheap Gaming Keyboard

Cooler Master MasterKeys Lite L combo is an excellent set with symmetrical computer mouse, even though it seems too easy at first glance. The keyboard itself features a surprisingly high-quality pseudo-mechanical switch. Okay, actually, even while typing, I almost vomited right on it, so simple and elegant. Although in general, when compared to models using standard membrane switches, Mem-Chanical switches feel more durable and easier to use. In fact, the keys are somewhat similar to Logitech's Mech-Dome, and it comes with twice the life cycle of traditional membrane switches that require almost depressing when pressed.

Regarding computer mouse, then it has an Avago optical sensor with maximum resolution at 3500 DPI. Therefore, if you are looking for an inexpensive keyboard + mouse set, then Cooler Master is at least worth paying attention to.

Let's start with the design of the keys themselves. Now you can choose from three options:

  • Membrane keyboards- this is first of all budget segment due to ease of manufacture, although membranes can also be found in keyboards costing several thousand. In them, each key rests against an elastic hemisphere, in the center of which a contact made of conductive rubber is fixed; when pressed, the finger bends the “dome”, resting the contact on the lower substrate with tracks. The disadvantages of membrane keyboards are, in theory, a small resource (although many IBM membrane keyboards still work after 20 years), problems when flooded with water (water penetrates between the membrane and the substrate without drying out for a long time) on cheap keyboards. Over time, non-pressing may begin, when the key seems to have rested, but the contacts have not closed.
  • Scissor mechanism is an improvement on membrane keyboards, where additional levers under the key stabilize its stroke when pressed at an angle, making it more pleasant, allowing for a short stroke with good feedback. Sometimes this mechanism is used on membrane keyboards under wide keys, while the rest remain purely membrane-assembled.
  • Mechanical keyboards They have an individual microswitch under each button, which gives excellent feedback, a long service life, does not require pressing all the way to operate, but also noticeably increases noise if switches of special low-noise series are not used. This is the oldest class of keyboards, now again experiencing a peak in demand (mainly, however, because of fashion than because of real advantages compared to high-quality membranes).

The configuration of the keys can be very different - from the traditional one, established in the late 80s, to the most daring modern experiments. Here you should already choose a device for yourself: for example, if you often work with the clipboard, you should look for a keyboard with “iron” Cut-Copy-Paste keys. There will be a separate row of multimedia keys for the home PC keyboard good choice- the same control of the media player without switching windows will not be superfluous.
