How to install cars in GTA?




Game fans GTA series can be found all over the world. Due to the wild popularity of these games, you can find many different modifications for them on the Internet. Installation of cars in GTA San Andreas

To install new cars, you first need to download the archive itself with the files of the car that you want to add. Similar archives of files can be found on various gaming forums and websites. After downloading the archive, the files must be installed. To do this you need to download two programs:

Let's move on to installing the car. The installation process itself is quite simple and does not take much time. Before installing mods, be sure to make copies of the Data and Models folders.

  1. Unpack the archive with the files of the new car into a separate folder;
  2. Launch the IMG Tool 2.0 program and click the File button;
  3. In the menu that opens, specify the path to the Models folder in the game directory;
  4. In the program window, open the GTA3.Img file;
  5. Often, new cars are installed by replacing standard slot cars. When installing a new machine, find files with the same name in the game materials folder and replace standard files for new ones. In the program window, select the necessary files and delete them, then add new files to the same directories.

Installing new cars in GTA 4

To install new cars in the GTA 4 game, you need the SparkIV or OpenIV program.

  1. First install one of these programs, they have a similar interface and functionality. Launch the program of your choice;
  2. In the program window, click the Browse button and in the game directory, find the vehicles.img file;

The easy way

1. We are looking for the right car, Google.ru is suitable for this. We enter something like “cars for Gta San Andreas” or simply go to this section of the LibertyCity.ru website. We select the desired car there, for example the Batmobile. Download the archive. The archive will contain two files with the extensions “.dff” and “.txd”; unpack these files to any location on the computer.

2. Download the program IMG Tool 2.0 (Russian version). We also unpack the downloaded archive to any location. Let's launch the program. Now in top menu Click “File -> Open”. And set the path to the “gta3” file, it is located in the “models” folder, and it is in the root folder with the game. Here is an example of such a path: “Local drive C -> GTA San Andreas -> models -> gta3”.

After selecting the file, a window similar to this should open:

3. Now, look at the files that we unpacked. For example, for me it is “hotrina.dff” and “hotrina.txd”. We are looking for files with the same name in the program. For a more convenient search, go to “Settings -> Sorting -> by name”.

4. When you find these files (“hotrina.dff” and “hotrina.txd”), delete them by clicking the Delete button.

The following window will appear.

We confirm the deletion.

5. Add files downloaded from the archive with the same name. To do this, click “Add” in the program menu. Thus, we added two files in turn. That's all, the question “how to change cars in GTA San Andreas” should be settled. By the way, here is the result:

Some sites distribute special car packs for GTA San Andreas. Such packs are installed themselves into the root of the game. One of these sites is GtaViceCity.ru. Step 1

(Preparing for installation)
  • Download any car you like from . I chose.
  • Unpack the contents of the archive to any location convenient for you.

  • In the top menu, click on File & Open(or use a simple combination Ctrl+L).

  • In the pop-up window, enter the name of your car and click " Find next" .
  • For example: turismo.dff(in the case of my car).

  • Repeat the same operation with .txd file.
  • Backup is complete. Now you need to replace the files.
  • To replace car components, you need to remove the old ones. To do this, look for and delete files turismo.dff And turismo.txd(you must delete your machine's files).
  • Looking for turismo.dff, right-click on it and use the command Delete(you can use the button on the keyboard).
  • We repeat the same procedure with turismo.dff.

  • When you start deleting the file and the program will ask you " Are you sure you want delete the selected files?" press ( Yes).

  • Now let's install our new car. Click Commands>Add(or use keystroke Ctrl+A).

  • We trace the path to the new files of your machine. In my case it's turismo.dff And turismo.txd.
  • That's all. The installation of the model is completed.

    (Complete installation)
  • Open the Readme file that is in the archive with the machine and look for where it is mentioned about setting it up.
  • You need to find 3 files where the settings are located. These are the files handling.cfg, carcols.dat.
  • By default we find these 3 files in (Your disk)\GTA San Andreas.
  • Opening carcols.dat using a notepad. We'll see in front of us.
  • In the field that appears, enter the name of your car and click " Find next".
  • The setting is immediately highlighted in front of you. We delete it and copy the one listed in the Readme archive.
  • Repeat this procedure with the remaining settings.

What's in the archive?

Most often, the ones you would like to add to your game are in the archive. But what's inside? How to install cars in GTA: San Andreas with only zipped files? Naturally, first you need to unzip them using the appropriate program. You should not immediately extract them to the game folder, as this process will be a little more subtle and will require additional steps from you. There can be two different sets of files inside the archive. The first and most common option is simply files that are responsible for adding specific textures and car functions to the game. The second one is more pleasant for the user - it includes not only the car files themselves, but also an installer with which you can more conveniently introduce new cars into the game. With the help of such a program, installing cars in GTA: San Andreas will become much easier.

Using the installer

It's worth starting with a more favorable option, in which you have an installer, and it will do most of the work for you. If you still don’t understand about cars in GTA: San Andreas, then here’s a little hint - you don’t need to touch any other files except the exe mod itself. Launch it, and then you only need to follow the instructions. Select the folder in which you installed the game, open the category with cars and their textures in it, select the car that you would like to replace with a new one, and then specify the path to the files that should be included in the game. After this, you can safely launch GTA, and instead of the car you selected, there will be a new one that you yourself identified and downloaded. Copying files yourself

So, pay attention to what the car looks like in file form. Most often these are two files with the extensions txd and dff, which together make up a specific car model. Accordingly, in the game folder in the cars category you will find a whole set of similar pairs of files that are responsible for all the cars that are in GTA: San Andreas. Fortunately, they are all labeled exactly as the cars are called in the game, so it won’t be difficult for you to find the car you would like to get rid of. Choose a machine, delete two files, and in their place write down what you downloaded from the Internet. That's the whole secret, nothing more is required from you.

Creating Backups

Considering the fact that you will need to remove cars from the game in order to write new ones in their place, it becomes more relevant for you. If you want to return the model that was previously removed from the game, you will not be able to do anything unless you have created backup copy of this car. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you copy the files that you delete to a separate folder so that you can quickly return them later. Otherwise, you will have to completely reinstall the game in order for the car models you deleted to return.

Hello, in this article I will teach you how to add cars to GTA game San Andreas without replacing the standard ones. To get started, you will need the programs ASI Loader, Vehicle Audio Editor Ultimate 1.3, SA Handling Adder Ultimate, GXT Editor 1.2, Imgtool, SA More Vehicles Plugin.
Let's start:

1. First, choose the car you like, make sure that the archive contains files with the extensions *.dff and *.txd. It would also be desirable to have a text document (author’s note – ReadMe.txt). I chose the 2008 GMC Yukon. I had these files in my archive: huntley.dff, huntley.txd, readme.txt.

2. Next, I will write everything using my own example. Unzip the files into a folder. And rename them. I renamed mine like this: gmcyukon.dff and gmcyukon.txd, respectively, there is no need to rename the readme.
3. Upload files from the ASI Loader, VehicleAudioEditorUltimate, SAHandlingAdderUltimate and SAMoreVehicles archives to root folder with the game replacing existing files.
4. Open the game archive \GTA_San_Andreas\models\gta3.img with the IMG Tool and load the files gmcyukon.dff and gmcyukon.txd into it using the Commands->Add command or the hotkey combination Ctrl+A.
PS: The game may stop accepting archives weighing more than 2GB. In this case, I advise you to create a new img archive and register it in the \GTA_San_Andreas\data\gta.dat file. I will explain how to do this later...
5. Now use notepad to open the file \GTA_San_Andreas\data\vehicles.ide. In the readme I have this line:

I edited it to this:

*6 - variable for the name of the car in the game, we will look at it a little later
* the rest can be left unchanged
Now we add the finished line, edited, to the vehicles.ide file at the very end.
6. Using the same notepad, open the file \GTA_San_Andreas\data\carcols.dat. In the readme I had the line:
huntley, 37.37, 42.42, 53.53, 62.62, 7.7, 10.10, 11.11, 15.15
I edited it:
gmcyukon, 37.37, 42.42, 53.53, 62.62, 7.7, 10.10, 11.11, 15.15
And now we add the finished line to the carcols.dat file in alphabetical order.
7. Next, use notepad to open the file \GTA_San_Andreas\data\carmods.dat. In the readme I had the line:
huntley, nto_b_l, nto_b_s, nto_b_tw
I edited it:
gmcyukon, nto_b_l, nto_b_s, nto_b_tw
And now we add the finished line to the carmods.dat file in alphabetical order to our group of cars. We won't need the Readme anymore.
8. *1) Open "VehicleAudioData.ini" using any text
editor.
*2) At the beginning of the file there is a block “ID”s”, it is responsible for loading
specific IDs or their range.
Parameters:
Number_of_pairs - number of pairs "FromID_X - ToID_X"
FromID_X - initial download ID
ToID_X - final load ID
Instead of "X" there should be a chilso indicating the number of the pair.
Let's say if you need to load additional IDs, then the number of pairs
point to what we need (2), then add parameters
FromID_2 and ToID_2 , and indicate the starting and ending range
required/free IDs.
*3) The main part of the file is the audio parameters of the machines. Each block

10. There's just a little bit left to do. Using GXT Edit, open the file \GTA_San_Andreas\text\ american.gxt. Go to the MAIN block. Using the Entry->Add command, we open a window with a line. 11. Open \GTA_San_Andreas\data\cargrp.dat with any text editor. There are groups there. Register the cars in any group in which you would like to see it...
