To be fair, it’s worth noting that Emotion’s third version of the theme is a little better.

There are also many pre-installed applications that the user may not need, but nevertheless clutter up the device's memory. So, out of the 8 GB of device memory, only 4 GB is available to the user.

We've seen quite a few Emotion 2.3 smartphones in the past that perform quite poorly. They worked slowly, and the memory was clogged with unnecessary things. However, Huawei Ascend G620S, in contrast, performs very well.

It uses a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and 1GB of RAM, which is very good for a device priced under $150. We noticed one or two bugs, particularly a calendar glitch, but overall the Huawei Ascend G620S performs great under normal use conditions. Sometimes there are slight delays, but they are extremely minor.

The device also performs well in games. Even in demanding 3D games like Asphalt 8, we only noticed stuttering in a few frames. Despite the fact that the smartphone does not use the latest Android version, it's as good for gaming as any device under $200.

But what sets Huawei Ascend G620S apart is its battery endurance. It has a battery capacity of only 2000 mAh, which is certainly not enough for a device with a five-inch diagonal, but it works really well.

We're not talking about the battery lasting two days; heavy use can drain it in a day. At least we did it. However, normal use will leave around 30% charge in the evening.

It should also be noted that in order to use the smartphone on outdoors, you will need to turn on the maximum possible brightness. So the battery endurance works best when using the Ascend G620S in the office.

Performance and tests

The 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor (MSM8916) is used, this is one of the new solutions. There is no sense from 64 bits in Android yet, however, in front of “marketing value” you can already put “+”. Operating frequency- 1.2 GHz, quad-core processor, Adreno 306 is responsible for graphics. Overall, this is quite productive solution and is intended for the middle price segment. The processor is more than enough for everyday tasks. But the RAM is 1 GB, there are no other options, but I would like more, given the “gluttony” modern applications. In principle, at this price of the phone, this is a normal number, which again will be enough for 90 percent of users.
The phone does not slow down and works very quickly, it launches and successfully plays even quite complex games like Aphalt 8, GTA San Andreas and others. The graphics are not the best, sometimes top-end games have stutters, but the phone is not a top-end gaming solution either.

Communications and communications.

The smartphone supports 2 micro SIM cards, both work simultaneously (one radio module). One slot only supports GSM networks(2G), but the second one is LTE, WCDMA and GSM. Although, again, the confidence in receiving the 4G network decides.


To manage the battery and applications that drain it, there is its own interface, which can really increase the life of the battery.

Camera

The main camera uses a module of “only” 8 megapixels with backlight technology and flash. There are not many megapixels, but Huawei did a good job on the camera and flash work - the phone takes surprisingly decent photos, head and shoulders above the ZTE Red Bull, for example. Sometimes there is not enough detail, in the dark the pictures are very blurry and there is clearly not enough aperture, but you can get a good shot. What’s especially pleasing is that the auto mode here is really smart and almost always makes the best choice of exposure and light sensitivity. Sometimes it’s better to turn off the flash manually.

Moreover, the camera really has a lot different settings, so you can enable autofocus in motion, focus on the entire frame, tracking faces... I would still like better detail, but overall the camera was a pleasant surprise.

Software features
The smartphone operates on Android 4.4.4 OS, and there is definitely no doubt about the update to Android 5.0 - the update will be official. The system runs Huawei's own shell - EMUI version 2.3. I must say, I saw this shell from Huawei back in version 1.x on the Huawei Ascend P6 and then it didn’t make a splash, but then I appreciated the beauty of the firmware. It turned out to be very, very convenient and literally crammed with all sorts of tricks. In my personal ratings of convenient firmware, EMUI occupies a worthy place at the level of Flyme OS, MIUI, LeWa and others like them. A noticeable disadvantage of the smartphone is the lack of Google services in the firmware, that is, the smartphone user will most likely have to download Google services that he needs. Even the simplest “Mirror” application - produces a “Wow!” effect. It fogs up and you can write and draw on the smartphone screen))

The smartphone is quite loud, although there is only one speaker, its quality is excellent. The sound quality in the headphones is average, there are no revelations here. The interlocutor hears me perfectly, as do I him, I even reduced the volume of the voice speaker. The smartphone has an over-the-air update function, but at the most latest firmware For some reason the smartphone didn’t want to update itself, so I had to transfer the file to the memory card myself.

The Huawei Ascend G620S, priced at around $125, is the latest iteration of the updated vision of the ideal budget phone. The model is equipped with a decent 5-inch screen, 4G and a 64-bit processor.
