In this article I will tell you how to create djvu files and split them. Let's say we have 200 images that we want to put into a single djvu. Install the DjvuSolo program. Download DjvuSolo (2 Mb) . Go to File → Open and open the first picture. Then, right-click on the thumbnail of this image (in the left panel) and select the item from the drop-down menu “Insert Page(s) After” → “Add pages after”

Select the files that we want to add. DjvuSolo had problems adding more than 300 files at once, so it's better to add them 50 or 100 at a time and then convert them all at once.

To start converting to djvu, click File Save As... A dialog will appear in which you need to select the type of file to save. Select “Bundled”, in the next dialog specify the file name and folder to save, after clicking OK, a dialog appears for selecting the type of compression for the djvu file and setting the resolution to dpi (set to 300). For black and white books with few photographs, we choose Bitonal. We start the process and wait a few minutes.

Sometimes it is necessary to rip out several pages or completely split a djvu file into individual images. There is a program for this called djvu2graf. Download djvu converter (0.8 Mb). Unpack the djvu_convert archive. Inside this folder we throw a book (for example book.djvu), from which we need to tear out pages, and create a text file in which we write

By converting a file to another file extension, you can use other programs to service it. But we should not forget that the JPEG file, when converted to DJVU, may differ slightly from the original, for example in the placement of data. The most important information should be preserved, but if you are interested in the file being identical after converting from JPEG to DJVU, you should act judiciously and select the appropriate application from the list below. This does not guarantee that the conversion will be 100% as expected, but it can still help a lot. If, nevertheless, the effect of converting a JPEG file to DJVU did not meet your expectations, you can try to find on the Internet another version of your file in JPEG format, previously correctly converted by someone else into a DJVU file. You can try again to find and install an application that can open the JPEG file in its original format (without converting to a DJVU file.
