Nokia mobile phone new releases. Nokia mobile phones. Favorites of the best Nokia devices of recent years

Reading time: 6 minutes

Today, probably, every second gadget lover dreams of getting a new Nokia smartphone of 2019.

Since the manufacturer's triumphant return to the market mobile devices did not happen in 2018, today people are looking forward to the release of new models.

Why are Nokia smartphones 2019 so good?

At the end of 2018, the Finnish brand promised to release several the latest smartphones in the coming year.

Some of them have already been presented in Russia, some have become known only in a few countries, and some are still awaited by buyers.

These devices can safely be called the flagships of a well-known manufacturer, which over the past years has already managed to produce a huge range of high-quality and multifunctional products.

Nokia management has signed agreements with Foxconn, which is developing new models, as well as HMD Global, which will promote new devices on the market.

The unique model, with which Nokia's revival begins, did not bring too much profit to the manufacturer, although the risk of not attracting the interest of buyers was reduced to zero.

The flagship is equipped with a metal chassis, high-quality cameras (the main one is 21 megapixels, and the front one is 8 megapixels), as well as a Snapdragon 820. In addition, the smartphone has 4 GB RAM and 3 permanent options – 32/64/128 GB.

A tall smartphone with a large display size, excellent cameras and sufficient RAM. The basic mobile phone has a 5-inch display, a 13-megapixel camera (main), and 2 GB of RAM.

But the more advanced model will delight buyers with a 5.5-inch display, 3 GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel camera.

An interesting budget-class smartphone is 64-bit Intel processor Atom and clock frequency 2.3 Hz. The PowerVR G6430 is responsible for the graphics in applications and videos. The device is equipped with a decent battery (2700 mAh), an excellent main camera (20 MP) and a good front camera (5 MP).

Smartphone, good best quality cameras and incredible performance. The model has an eight-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of internal space on a memory card.

The main advantage of the model is the presence of a dual operating system - Android and Windows.

This is what makes it unique and desirable for modern businessmen.

Smartphone entry level with a rather modest but functional set of functions.

The phone is equipped with a metal frame, has a clean design and looks quite solid.

The high-quality Nokia 5 model belongs to the middle class.

This device has a large display and an advanced camera, and it is powered by the well-known Qualcomm chip. Nokia 5 runs on the Android Nougat operating system and has a 13-megapixel main camera with which you can take professional photos.

The manufacturer claims that the phone is the best option for the long term.

One of the most powerful models has a lot of advantages.

First of all, it attracts the attention of buyers thanks to its aluminum body, a pair of excellent speakers and a 1080p display. Additionally, the phone has a 16-megapixel camera.

The device runs on a modest Snapdragon 430, but this does not prevent it from satisfying all the desires of consumers.

One of the mid-range devices runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU, which is not at all surprising.

It is equipped good screen with a resolution of 1080p.

This model is very similar to the previous one appearance and characteristics. Choosing the best between these devices will not be easy, but the distinctive features can help.

Nokia 8 is equipped with a 1440p screen and the Android Nougat operating system. The phone is protected by a metal case, which will save it from falls from a height of about one meter.

The smartphone belongs to the premium segment.

The flagship is equipped with a 22-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel front sensor. Along with this, it has a 3800 mAh battery, up to 6 GB of RAM and a display with a resolution of 1440p.

What will happen if we tackle the revival of a brand with history intelligently and with soul? There will be a new one, this time Finnish-Chinese Nokia, reliably warmed up under the wing of HMD Global. Nokia of a new kind began to unite people, and at the same time skillfully play on nostalgia in 2017. The results are impressive: the Finns managed to sell millions of smartphones, catching up with those firmly on their feet, OnePlus and. Let's see if the renaissance will remain as successful and what to expect from transnational gadgets in 2019.

In 2019, Nokia connoisseurs can expect more than eight expanded lines of new models. New smartphones have not one, but two numbers in their names; the latest generation received the Plus prefix.

Compared to last year’s options, some lines have as many as three models instead of one, for example, Nokia 3 has expanded to Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 3.1 Plus. The cost of smartphones has decreased, but there is no significant difference in price between the models in the lines.

Nokia 1

As the manufacturers themselves stated, “some things are timeless,” referring to the neat Nokia 1 smartphone with a removable back cover. The rubberized cover acts as a full-fledged bumper, protecting the phone when dropped. In addition, the manufacturer gives you the opportunity to choose the color of your choice.

Despite the outdated camera and small screen diagonal by 2019 standards, the phone runs on a 1.1 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor. If desired, the user can purchase a model with either one or two SIM slots, add 8 GB of built-in microSD memory up to 128 GB.

The neat and ergonomic design makes the model recognizable and allows the phone to easily lie and fit in the palm of your hand.

Users highlight the following advantages:

  • small size (which is now a rarity for the modern smartphone market);
  • the latest firmware;
  • absence of useless and advertising applications in the shell;
  • sensitive radio module;
  • removable (replaceable) battery;
  • 24/7 technical support from the manufacturer.

Main Nokia cons 1 – rapid battery drain when actively using applications and a weak camera.

A shock-resistant and lightweight aluminum frame, high-quality 8 MP and 5 MP rear and front cameras, 8 GB of memory by default expandable up to 128 GB and a capacious 4000 mAh battery - these properties are common to Nokia 2 and Nokia 2.1. However, there are still differences between the models.

Installed in Nokia 2 safety glass Gorilla Glass, while Nokia 2.1 has a standard display. In terms of processor performance, the Nokia 2.1 with the Snapdragon 425 processor wins. The screen diagonal of the Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 2 are 5.5 and 5 inches, respectively.

Both models operate smoothly for 48 hours with active use. Traveling, online games or a session of YouTube videos for the whole day - the battery of the Nokia “two” is enough for any activity. Users note the high-quality color rendition of the screen of both models and a good equalizer, as well as big time battery life. Among the shortcomings, only 1 GB of RAM can be noted, but for this price category this is a standard amount.

Nokia 3, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 3.1 Plus

The Nokia 3 line has expanded to 3 models - 3, 3.1 and 3.1 Plus. From 3 to 3.1 Plus there are significant changes in the design of the case: the latest model has the thinnest frame. The first two models have displays equipped with Gorilla Glass protection. The diagonal of the displays changed towards widescreen resolution - from 5 to 5.2 and 6 inches. The processors have also changed: from MediaTek MT6737 with a bit capacity of 1.3 GHz to MediaTek MT6750 with a bit capacity of 1.5 GHz and MediaTek Helio P22 with a bit capacity of 2 GHz - and this is a jump from a modest 4 to a much more significant 8 cores. The newer 3.1 Plus is ahead of the previous two “triples” both in terms of characteristics and battery capacity - it is 3500 mAh.

All three smartphones in the series have aluminum body with diamond coating, which protects the frame from deformation and scratches. The line is also equipped with an NFC contactless payment module. Nokia 5, Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 5.1 Plus

The trio of smartphones was also released under the number 5. There was a gap of almost a year between the release of 5 and 5.1, while there was only a few months between the 5.1 and 5.1 Plus.

The display diagonal changed from 5.2 and 5.5 to 5.86 inches. Only the first two models are equipped with Gorilla Glass; the 5.1 Plus will have to use additional protection. Also, when developing the display in 5.1 Plus, curved glass technology was used, which gave the model a more presentable look. The processors have also evolved: from Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 with a 1.4 GHz frequency to MediaTek Helio P18 and MediaTek Helio P60 with the same frequency of 2 GHz. The fingerprint sensor has moved from the front to the back (5.1 and 5.1 Plus). The difference in battery capacity is insignificant - from 3000 to 3060 mAh. More sensors (magnetometer, compass) were built into 5 and 5.1 Plus.

Despite the leap in software and operational efficiency, this line lacks NFC function, provided in the older version 3. There is also no possibility of expansion internal memory via microSD.

Nokia 6, Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus

Monolithic aluminum body, shock-resistant screen with protective Gorilla Glass, strict lines, high resolution display, 5.5-inch diagonal, 4 GB of RAM, 16 and 8 MP rear and front cameras - this is where the similarities between models in the same line end.

Nokia 6 runs on Snapdragon processor 430 with a 1.2 GHz bit rate, and Nokia 6.1 is powered by a Snapdragon 630 with a 2.2 GHz bit rate. The first and second models have a memory card slot adjacent to the SIM. Also, 6.1 comes not only in black, but also in silver. The fingerprint sensor in the 6 is located at the front bottom of the screen, and in the 6.1 it is located at the back under the camera. NFC is supported in the 6.1 model, as is the accelerated charging function - 50% charge in just half an hour. Regarding permanent memory: both models are available with a built-in capacity of 32 GB, but you can purchase the 6.1 model with 64 GB.

Users respond positively to this series, noting the widescreen screen with a high-quality picture and oleophobic coating, a capacious battery, high build quality and reliability of the case, instant response from the fingerprint sensor and the presence of contactless payment support in the later model.

As for the new Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone, here (at the time of writing this article in January 2019) there are specifications, but few reviews: it is not presented in Russia, although those who wish can purchase it in we will not say which Asian country. The shortcomings they noted could for now be attributed precisely to the lack of a global proposal for the model - all that remains is to wait. Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 7 Plus

The penultimate and one of the newest lines combines current trends in the smartphone market: a bezel-less screen, Gorilla Glass protection, a rear fingerprint sensor, fast charging.

The 7 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor (4 cores at 2.2 GHz and 4 cores at 1.8 GHz), while the 7.1 is equipped with the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 (8 cores at 1.8 GHz). The differences are also noticeable in the internal memory: if in the 7 Plus it was 64 GB of built-in and 4 RAM, then in the 7.1 there are only 32 GB of built-in and 3 RAM. The differences also affected the front cameras: in the 7 Plus the front camera has a resolution of 14.4 megapixels, and in the 7.1 it has only 8. The battery capacity of 3800 mAh in the 7 Plus decreased to 3060 mAh in the 7.1. However, in the later model, the wishes of users regarding the screen diagonal were taken into account - from 6 inches it decreased to 5.86, making it more convenient to hold the smartphone in the palm of your hand. The frame has also changed - Nokia 7.1 belongs to the frameless class. According to customer reviews, the line turned out to be successful - the smartphones are equipped with good quality cameras, an NFC system and a stylish design.

  • RAM capacity: 3 or 4 GB
  • battery 3060 mAh
  • weight 160 g, WxHxD 71.18×149.7×7.99 mm

Nokia 8 and Nokia 8.1

The latest series from Nokia has pleased users high performance, high-quality camera, moisture protection, pure display, face unlock, fast charging, the presence of NFC, 64 GB of built-in and 4 GB of RAM, a metal frame and capacious batteries. Alas, despite essentially the top stage of the “evolution” of Nokia smartphones, it’s difficult to call both models flagships - rather, they’re strong middling ones. However, their prices are also not that bad.

The earlier eighth model runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (4 cores at 2.5 GHz and another 4 at 1.8 GHz), and 8.1 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 (2.2 GHz frequency on two cores and 1.7 on the remaining six energy-efficient ones). In model 8, the battery capacity is 3090 mAh, while in model 8.1 it is 3500 mAh. In the later 8.1, the frame disappeared, the diagonal changed from 5.3 inches to 6.18.

Users note high speed operation of smartphones in the line due to powerful processors, high-quality sound from the speakers, rich widescreen camera images, a reliable body and perfect build quality. Comparing the characteristics, we can note progress in the power of all smartphone systems.

The pace of HDM Global inspires confidence that even if smartphones with the Nokia nameplate do not return to their former glory as a standard of quality, they will certainly not get lost in the market. Entry-level and mid-budget models already have their own look, high-quality materials and a loyal fan base that will help withstand the onslaught of Chinese phones and A-class brothers. The story with flagships is a little sadder, but the G8 without a top-end chipset most likely will not become the brand’s “main” smartphone this year, so we’re waiting for the mysterious Nokia 9.

At one time, Nokia was a pioneer in the mobile phone industry and was the most recognized and best-selling brand. Then the policy of sticking to their guns led to the temporary sale of the company, and today the Finns are returning to the market again. It’s difficult to say whether the company’s representatives managed to work on the mistakes of the past, but Nokia’s new products for 2018 turn out to be interesting.

Among the new Nokia smartphones, a device that can be called reincarnation of the 2006 model - Nokia 8110, only in a modern concept. The device has a metal frame and Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. Both sides of the smartphone are curved and converge at the ends, forming a small strip only 2 mm thick. This makes the edges appear sharper than a razor. Model diagonal – 5.5 inches, 2560*1440. Matrix – POLED. The device has a battery capacity of 3260 mAh and wireless charging.

The device received almost everything in terms of hardware flagship specifications, excluding processor, Here we saved a little and installed Snapdragon 835. Memory – 6/128 GB. There is protection against moisture according to the IP67 standard. Camera – Zeiss with optical zoom and two modules of 12 and 13 megapixels. The model can record with two cameras at once, which is quite an interesting feature.

Important! OS – Android One, the most impersonal and bare version that Google has ever created, there is practically no pre-installed application, and users will be able to customize the device as much as possible.

The price at the start of sales is 53 thousand rubles.

  • protection from moisture;
  • excellent camera;
  • wireless charging;
  • good amount of memory;
  • high quality display.
  • not the most top-end processor;
  • There is no headphone jack.

With the company trying to re-enter the market today, the brand has to work hard to beat the competition. The company's flagship turned out to be at least interesting. The weak point is that the processor is not the most top-end, but this is not particularly scary, since overall performance is sufficient. The device is not big what for modern devices very unusual. The camera is excellent, the design also does not look like everyone else. In addition to this, the company I didn’t make a template cutout in Apple style despite the fact that the display is frameless. Of course, the model costs quite a bit, and it may be scary to pay that kind of money for a new Nokia smartphone, given the fact that the company has clearly not shone in recent years.

Nokia 8 Sirocco on Yandex Market

The 8 Sirocco was greeted with a bit of irony, but the 7 Plus was quickly named the best new Nokia smartphone in 2018. The device beat all sales ratings within the company and is really interesting. Chipset – Snapdragon 660, modern FullView display, 6 inches, IPS, FHD+. Memory - 4/64 GB. The device looks very nice. The body is completely created made of steel 6000 series. Available in white and black. To break up the strict design, the side panels were made bronze, and it looks very fresh.

Important! The body is not just metal, it consists of several layers and coatings. At the presentation, the device was dropped, scratched, beaten, and it remained intact without any scuffs.

The camera is the same as that offered in the flagship - Zeiss 12+13 megapixels. Selfie camera – 16 MP. Here, too, there is a mode for simultaneous shooting on the main and front sensors. Battery – 3800 mAh. Price – from 24 thousand rubles.

  • design;
  • camera;
  • protection from damage;
  • fast charging;
  • battery capacity.
  • pure Android periodically produces errors;
  • Quite a mediocre microphone.

It was said above that the model turned out to be interesting. The device is the best-selling device within the company, but it has many strong competitors on the outside with a similar price. The device is not the best player on the market, but it is far from the last.

Nokia 1

In 2018, the company released a number of successful models, and among the new Nokia smartphones, a budget unit stands out. It's nice that small phone. Its diagonal is only 4.5 inches. There is an opinion that there are not enough such screens from famous manufacturers today. The device does not have high performance in terms of hardware; it has a weak MediaTek 6737M, 1 and 8 GB of memory, a 5 MP camera, and a 2150 mAh battery.

This is not what makes the device interesting. The device has replaceable plastic panels at a very low price, as well as “bare” Android One, which, with the weak filling of a single Nokia, will allow, if not fly, then provide a very comfortable level of operation. With all of the above, the device is not afraid of splashes, and this one of the cheapest waterproof smartphones year. Price – from 5 thousand rubles.

  • splash protection;
  • small diagonal;
  • bright replaceable panels with low cost;
  • clean operating system Provides pleasant performance at low settings.
  • The plastic casing wears out quickly.

It is stupid to expect something supernatural from a device for 5 thousand rubles, but sometimes it happens that without any expectations the phone is so bad that it is completely impossible to work with it. Nokia 1 is completely different and at the same time has a pleasant plus - protection from water.

Advice! For those who want to buy a high-quality and at the same time budget device, this is best choice on the market.

Nokia 1 on Yandex Market

Nokia smartphones of 2018 are represented quite widely, and even towards the end of the year updated devices continue to appear. This is the 5.1 Plus. The device belongs to the middle segment. The device has a Helio P60 processor, good for the price tag, 3/32 GB of memory, and a 3000 mAh battery. Diagonal – 5.8 inches. IPS matrix, 18:9, 1520*720 pixels. Camera – 13+5 MP, front camera – 8 MP. The model has typical design with a cutout for the front camera. Price – from 16 thousand rubles.

  • powerful processor;
  • weak camera;
  • little autonomy;
  • wide display cutout;
  • low screen resolution.

Important! This device can hardly be called good, since the only real plus of the model is performance. The chipset and memory will allow you to play games, surf the net and enjoy movies. The rest of the device is quite mediocre.

The design here is formulaic, it can be called quite good, but the picture is spoiled by a very large cutout for the front camera. Second the weak point of the new product is the battery. Even with a good volume, reviews often mention that under heavy loads the device will run out of charge after 6-8 hours of use, and for a modern smartphone this is very little.

On Yandex Market

In 2018, brand owners understand that it will be difficult for them to compete in the expensive segment, so the main emphasis is on the medium and low price tag. The inexpensive Nokia 1 was mentioned above. There is a slightly more worthy device in the arsenal, which, unlike the younger smartphone captivating design. The body is made of plastic and metal, there are three colors - blue with a copper edging around the camera, blue with a gray edging and gray. The device is equipped with a 5.5-inch IPS matrix with HD resolution. The Snapdragon 425 chipset, which is pleasant for the price tag, is responsible for the work; 1 and 8 GB of memory are hidden under the body. Operating system - Android Oreo, a clean version without proprietary software. Battery – 4000 mAh. Camera – 8 MP, front camera – 5 MP. The glass is protected by Gorila Glass. Price – 7 thousand rubles.

  • excellent autonomy;
  • nice design;
  • large diagonal;
  • good processor.
  • weak hardware for its price.

The device belongs to budget segment, which explains the weak iron. At the same time, for 7 thousand rubles it is quite possible to find models with a large amount of main and RAM memory. This is precisely the weakest part of the new product. Positioning – cool design, long lasting performance, and this is true.

Advice! For all those who need a device with a nice design and big battery, you will like the device. The rest should refrain from purchasing.

The strange thing is that the chipset installed in the updated device is quite good, but they added its only 1 GB of memory. Most likely, the manufacturer is counting on pure Android, which is available in almost all of the company’s devices in 2018. But if you compare different devices by numbers, the model pales in comparison to its competitors.

The expected new product from the Finnish brand is the mysterious Nokia 9. Rumors about the model have been circulating since 2017, but there are practically no real facts. The model will be the flagship of the company, and therefore is of great interest. Latest news from the world of smartphones shed light on the new product, but it is impossible to say that everything will really be as it is said.

It has become known that the device will have a main camera with 5 matrices! It sounds fantastic, but it looks even more interesting. It is difficult to say how true the rumors are, but there is information that the information is official, and moreover, photographs of the concept model that are circulating on the Internet are also provided by official sources.

It’s difficult to say why five sensors are needed at once. With three, which are already on the market today, everything is more or less clear, but five looks like an obvious overkill. According to people knowledgeable in this area, each sensor will have a different focal length, which will allow you to determine the distance from the device to the subject as accurately as possible. The end result will be great photos.

Note! In addition, the use of a large number of matrices may be associated with new functions that were not previously available in smartphones, for example, 3D shooting.

There is no other information about the device, so we can only speculate whether engineers from Finland will be able to bring the concept to fruition and present the device in the form that is now attributed to it. Nokia 9 is a device that people are waiting for, which means it will be evaluated to the fullest. In view of this, the company will have to try hard not to disappoint users.

For the spread of smartphones, we need to thank the legendary company Nokia, which today is experiencing better times, but still continues to produce truly worthy devices, but already under the wing Microsoft. Surely, many of our readers at one time had a real Nokia smartphone, and we are sure that almost each of us has something to tell about the experience of using clumsy, but so cool Nokia devices.

Despite the fact that modern smartphones In many ways they do not live up to their competitors, it is clear that the company is putting a lot of effort into attracting users. First of all, the Finns promised to release updates for all their devices in a timely manner and, I must say, they kept their promise. Until now, all devices released by Nokia have consistently received both monthly security updates and new Android versions. Another thing is that the standard update period for Android smartphones is 2 years, but Nokia decided to extend it for another year.

It’s difficult to find a manufacturer that takes the longest to update its smartphones. According to Google's rules, vendors are required to release new versions for their flagships only during the first two years, limiting themselves to monthly security patches in the third year. Therefore, most users begin to think in other categories, paying attention to smartphones from brands that at least do not delay updates, but release them in the most timely manner. Unfortunately, there are few of them, but Nokia is among them.

As the amount of information our smartphones received increased, the concept of security gradually became even more important than parameters such as performance and screen resolution. It got to the point that some manufacturers even began to produce devices with an increased level of security, which encrypt user data in a special way in order to prevent hackers and scammers from accessing it. But Nokia, in order to protect its users, did not need to launch a new line of smartphones, but only slightly improve the old ones.

Like any other manufacturer, it annually releases several models of smartphones belonging to different lines. Among them there are both frankly budget devices and quite flagship ones that can compete even with the solutions of other famous brands. The only problem that plagues Nokia smartphones is the lack of a clear division without the ability to determine the newness of the model by name, which the manufacturer himself distinguishes by the number after the decimal point.

Nokia / Nokia is a Finnish company that until 2011 had the largest share in the global mobile phone market. This success was associated with push-button models, but in the era of smartphones, Nokia lost its former importance. From 2011 to 2014, Nokia released smartphones under the Lumia frame on the operating system Windows Phone, but this operating system was not widely used, and therefore the success of Lumia smartphones was not great. In 2014, Nokia sold its entire mobile phone segment (including the Lumia brand) to Microsoft. However, in December 2016, the Finnish company HMD Global, together with Nokia, decided to revive the legendary Nokia brand and bought part of the rights from Microsoft. As a result, completely new ones appeared in 2017, as well as new line Android smartphones: Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8.
