When will Samsung s10 go on sale. The latest Galaxy S10 leak is full of interesting details. Triple rear cameras

Or at least dreaming of doing so, the South Korean giant is preparing to strike back.

Yes, yes, next generation flagships, Samsung Galaxy S10 will also have three versions, which has already been officially announced. In addition, there will be several new items that are not yet in the creations.

And although there is still quite a lot of time left before the official announcement, a lot is already known, and not only at the level of insiders.

We tried to collect and slightly systematize this information in order to understand what to expect from the new Galaxy.

Design, materials

Dong-Jin Koh, who heads the mobile division, clearly and unequivocally stated that the appearance of the new smartphone will be very different from its predecessors.

In fact, after the “twin brothers” S8 and S9, fans of the brand are clearly demanding something new. A photo of the new product was even leaked online, showing the front camera located directly below the display.

That is, the gadget will have practically no frames. It is clear that such “leaks” quite often turn out to be fakes, but the trend is obvious, and the manufacturer has the corresponding patents.

The picture clearly shows a 2.5D effect, further enhancing the impression of framelessness.

For some time there have been rumors about a retractable camera, but this falls into the category of idle fantasies: Samsung will not, even for the sake of the absolute absence of frames, introduce a moving element into the design of the device.

More credible is the possibility of having a three-module main camera, and the sensors are located not in the shape of a trefoil, as in the latter, but in a horizontal row.

The fingerprint scanner will almost certainly be hidden under the surface of the display, so it most likely won't be on the back panel.

But, according to Bloomberg, in the budget version the finger scanner will be on the side panel. How they imagine it is difficult to see. According to their data, the “premium budget phone”, which clearly has something in common with the iPhone Xr, will receive a flat display.

There is information that Samsung is seriously considering abandoning the 3.5 mm audio jack.

Screen

There are no specifics on this aspect of the future new product yet, we only know that all three versions will differ in diagonal.

Presumably it will be the same with 4K resolution, occupying more than 93% of the surface of the front panel.

Cameras

We have already mentioned the rumors about the retractable selfie camera and their groundlessness. Much more interesting is the information about the three-module camera, which seems to be available even on the “budget” version.

The resolution of the main sensor is called 16 MP with variable, which has already been tested on the previous generation flagship.

In addition to it, there will be another 13-megapixel telephoto camera with a viewing angle of 45 degrees and a 12-megapixel one. According to some reports, all three modules could receive the variable, but this seems unlikely.

According to analysts' forecasts, up to 10% of smartphones will receive triple cameras next year; there is even evidence that one will be installed on the Samsung A-series.

So the question of its presence in premium-segment devices can be considered practically resolved.

Battery

According to unverified data, the new product will receive a new generation graphene battery.

Modern lithium-ion and lithium-polymer have become a huge step forward in every sense, compared to the already forgotten nickel-cadmium, but they are still far from ideal.

New technologies will make it possible to create a more compact battery, increase its capacity and finally say goodbye to the explosion hazard that made Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is one of the most shameful smartphones in the history of the industry.

It is not yet clear whether the developers will have time to bring the technology to the industrial stage, but insiders even name the battery capacity - 3190 mAh.

Hardware platform

Almost all experts are confident that the new product will receive new chipset from Qualcomm, equipped with a .

Unfortunately, there is still virtually no information about it; even the name itself is questionable. It is only known that more than a dozen vendors have announced their intention to release their devices based on it.

The new SoC will almost certainly be manufactured using a 7 nm process technology, which will provide greater efficiency and a certain increase in performance.

As for the version with Exynos 9820, which will be officially sold in Russia, it will receive an NPU neural engine and an improved graphics accelerator.

It is known that Samsung intends to use it in the new generation latest version RAM LPDDR 5. According to GF Securities, the line will have not even three, but four versions: 4, 6, 8 and 12 GB.

There are rumors regarding the volume of internal storage - according to them there will be two versions: 256 and 512 GB.

Software

There can be no discrepancies here - the device will work under Android control P, which is now known as Android 9.0 Pie and nothing else.

Unfortunately, one of the main problems due to which Samsung loses to Apple has still not been solved: the authorization by scanning the iris and face, which its devices use, is unconditionally inferior to Apple.

There has been no information yet that a more successful version will be created.

Release date

The beginning of 2019 should please Samsung fans: the long-awaited announcement of the foldable Galaxy X is expected in January, the appearance of which many have already stopped even believing in the market, and the “ten” should be officially presented to the public in February.

By this time, the passions around the new iPhones will have subsided and the company will be able to collect its portion of delight without interference... or disappointed sighs, as it turns out.

However, GF Securities still names March as the month of announcement.

Estimated price

According to the Slashgear resource, the cost of the new product will be: as follows:
  • “budget” Galaxy S10R (Retro) - $750;
  • “basic” Galaxy S10 - $1,000;
  • “maximum” Galaxy S10 Max - $1,100.
However, the names reasonably raise doubts, especially since GF Securities offers his version:
  • Galaxy S10;
  • Galaxy S10 Plus;
  • Galaxy S10 X;
  • Galaxy S10 X 5G.
This reflects persistent rumors that not all models will receive support for 5G networks, but only the maximum one. This seems unlikely to us: Samsung is unlikely to take such a short-sighted step.

But in any case, the figures cited by insiders show a trend towards “inflation”: premium devices of any brand are becoming more and more expensive and have already exceeded the $1,000 level.

In conclusion

“Nine” caused serious disappointment among fans of the brand with minimal differences from the previous generation, especially compared to the sensational iPhone X.

It’s not in vain that Samsung analysts eat their rice, or whatever they eat, and they’ve probably drawn the appropriate conclusions. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will feature all the possible and impossible new products that the company has.

We are confident: insiders don’t know even half of what is being prepared for us. Therefore, during the announcement, a lot of surprises await us all. But what you can be 300% sure of is that new smartphones will become much more expensive than their predecessors.

Samsung is partially trying to solve the problem with their availability in Russia by launching a leasing program, the participants of which will be able to receive devices “for rent”, each time a new model is released, exchanging their old device for it.

A kind of trade-in. , so its owners will be able to appreciate all the advantages of the “ten” without any special financial costs.

More recently, the hearts of Samsung users skipped a beat at the sight of the new 2018 year Galaxy S9. But the owners did not have time to evaluate functional features gadget, as rumors about the future flagship Samsung Galaxy S10 began to leak into the network. Among the main leaks: the developers are ready to use a new type of battery, introduce advanced technologies and even change the name of the flagship. This information was shared by the head of the division of the South Korean corporation, DJ Koh.

Fans Samsung We have already noticed that new devices will be presented at Mobile World Congress. The exhibition of mobile industry achievements usually takes place in the first quarter of the year. That is why the estimated time of appearance of the new product can be considered the end of February 2019. Earlier dates look unrealistic due to the introduction of a new solid-state battery.

Smartphone characteristics

The exact characteristics of the new generation smartphone remain a mystery until the official appearance of the Galaxy S10 in public. However, something is already known:

  1. The new generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with a chip based on 7 nm technology and possible download speeds of up to 2 Gbps, compared to the S9's performance of 1.2 Gbps.
  2. The 4K Ultra HD Super AMOLED smartphone display can become flexible.
  3. The camera of the device will resemble the Galaxy S9 Plus with three lenses: an 18 MP main camera and a 10 MP dual front camera.
  4. RAM – 6 GB.
  5. The built-in memory capacity will be 64, 256 and 512 GB.
  6. The lithium-ion battery will be replaced with a 3800 mAh solid-state battery, which will increase battery life.
  7. 5G network support.

The list of specifications has been compiled based on all available information.

Taking into account complex and expensive developments, manufacturing costs, and the cost of high-quality components, the price of the Galaxy S10 in Russia will vary from 58,500 to 62,000 rubles. Apparently, the cost will not exceed the psychological mark of $1000.

Photos appear online closer to the release of the Galaxy S10 appearance smartphone. These are rather fake pictures of unknown devices, since the company has not yet made any official statements. The main thing that all users are sure of is that the smartphone will become truly frameless. The screen will cover from 93 to 99% of the front part of the device.

Galaxy S10 news and rumors

Without waiting for the official release Galaxy smartphone S10, the corporation shares news about several patented technologies. The company's engineers were able to integrate the following into the Super AMOLED display:

  • front camera;
  • light and proximity sensors;
  • conversational speaker.

Even the fingerprint scanner has been placed under the updated screen. After such news from the leaders of the mobile industry, it will be difficult to wait for the official release of the smartphone in the first quarter of 2019.

The Galaxy S10 and presumably the S10+ promise to be Samsung's most interesting devices in years. And there are at least two reasons for this. Firstly, the Galaxy S9 sold poorly because it didn’t offer anything interesting, and the company needs to rehabilitate itself. Secondly, in 2019 the anniversary smartphone Samsung Galaxy S10 will be presented - the tenth generation of the flagship, which is bound to become truly revolutionary.

We expect the smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, 3D facial recognition, three or four rear cameras, and a new processor. We will also definitely see a completely frameless design, which we have been waiting for a long time. Read more about what the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be like in our preview below.

Design

It is possible that one Samsung version The Galaxy S10 (possibly S10 Mini) may not have an in-display fingerprint sensor. According to the SamMobile editors, a more budget version of the Galaxy is also being prepared for release, where the fingerprint recognition sensor is located on the side.

The case is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard. At the back we will see the usual glass cover. The number of cameras located on it remains a mystery. In light of recent events, it is possible that there will be four modules: a main one, a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens with two- or three-fold zoom, as well as a black-and-white module or a separate sensor for determining depth of field.

The phone will not lose a mini-jack for headphones, will have stereo speakers and a charging port USB Type-C. The opportunity to expand will not disappear either. internal memory smartphone.

In September, Samsung CEO DJ Koh said the Galaxy S10 would come in a "staggering" range of color options. We will find out what the Koreans have prepared for us when the device comes out.

Display

The larger version of the Galaxy S10 will be equipped with a 6.2- or 6.3-inch screen, while the small one will have a 5.8-inch display. Super AMOLED matrices are expected, as in previous Galaxies.

In March 2018, Samsung patents surfaced containing drawings of a smartphone in which the front panel is 99% occupied by the display. Front camera in this case, it can be under the screen, or located in a special retractable module, as in Vivo NEX. Obviously, the developers also hid the sensors under glass.

There is no doubt that the screen will be excellent, because in previous models it was their business card. There will be enough brightness, viewing angles should also please us. The picture will probably remain the same oversaturated, but the color rendition can be adjusted in the system settings.

Sound and communication

The company will continue to install stereo speakers. Surely they will be developed in collaboration with the Harman Kardon corporation, owned by Samsung. Let us remind you that the sound in the Galaxy S9 was one of the best among all smartphones. The C10 will have an audio jack, and is also expected to support aptX HD and LDAC to improve sound in wireless headphones.

The developers will install NFC, which works in Russia and other CIS countries. There are speculations that a version of the S10 will be released with support for 5G networks, but there is little confirmation of this information.

Firmware

We still know almost nothing about what the company will implement in the new operating system, but we have several leaks and assumptions.

First, it's almost certain that Samsung's 2019 flagship will ship with Android 9.0 P. We're also expecting to see a major update to Bixby since Samsung acquired Viv, the startup created by the founders of Siri. We hope that this assistant will finally become useful.

There's also a chance that the Galaxy S10 will come with improved activity and health tracking apps. According to a recently published patent by Let's Go Digital, Samsung is working on an app that detects your skin type and can offer recommendations for limiting sun exposure.

We really hope that Samsung will work on the smoothness of the firmware, because their Exynos-powered smartphones sometimes managed to lag more than budget phones from Meizu. will appear dark theme, and the DEX mode will also improve, which still works well.

Cameras

Samsung installs at least three lenses on the rear panel. There is no doubt about it. But why stop at three rear lenses? Insiders report that Samsung will add a second front-facing lens to improve portrait mode performance.

Engineers will install completely new modules into the new product (their characteristics are not yet known). The main one will be focused on improving photo quality in low light. Perhaps they will show us a 48-megapixel sensor. Telephoto (2x or 3x zoom) and wide-angle (120-degree) lenses should also have optical stabilization.

In terms of video, there should be improvements in terms of stabilization. Improved HDR video technology cannot be ruled out, because something needs to be done to respond to the Smart HDR feature introduced by Apple. Also, thanks to the new processors, recording in 4K 120 FPS, 1080p 960 FPS or even 8K 30 FPS can be realized, which, of course, is unlikely.

There will be two cameras on the front. It's unclear what improvements this will bring, since blur works very well without an auxiliary sensor. Perhaps the company will offer new functionality, redesigned Animoji and other goodies, selfie features based on AI.

Performance

Samsung in February announced it was investing $5.6 billion in a new factory to create 7-nanometer chipsets. Qualcomm also recently released the first samples of Snapdragon 855 using this process technology and sent them to vendors for testing.

Obviously, the international version of the Galaxy S10 will have an Exynos 9820 processor, and the American version will have a Snapdragon 855. Configuration Samsung processor is not yet known, but there is no doubt that the new Cortex-A76 cores, which are already in the Kirin 980, will be used there. We assume that the corporation will not abandon the big.LITTLE architecture, where there will be four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores and 4 high-performance Cortex-A55 cores. A76. But there is news that the SoC will have three clusters, built on the principle of 4 + 2 + 2, not 4 + 4. The Mali-G76 should be responsible for the graphics.

It is extremely important what Samsung puts on the board new memory LPDDR5 and installs a UFS 3.0 type drive, which will significantly increase the speed of the phone. UFS 3.0, in particular, consumes less power, processes requests faster and is more stable at high temperatures. LPDDR5 has faster read and write speeds allowing you to use new content, for example, creating videos in 8K.

In synthetic tests AnTuTu and Geekbench the increase should be significant. However, there are big questions about stability so powerful phone, since the corporation simply may not implement high-quality heat removal and power supply.

Autonomy

We are waiting for an increase in the speed of the devices. Moreover, the battery capacity may change slightly or remain the same, but the energy efficiency of the components will mean that the phone can be used longer without recharging.

Charging should become faster thanks to the new Quick Charge from Qualcomm and updated technology in the SoC Exynos 9820. Wireless charging will also remain on board.

Release date

It should be expected that new mobile phone will be announced at next year's Mobile World Congress, which starts on February 25. The exact release date has not yet been revealed. If Samsung follows a similar plan for the S10 as it did for the S9, the phone will hit shelves in mid-March 2019.

The price is not mentioned anywhere. Considering the number of innovations and the price tag for Apple products, Koreans can ask for at least $900, or even $1000 for the junior version of the flagship.

Bottom line

If everything goes as leaks and analyst reviews say, then we will see the chic smartphones S10, S10 Plus and, possibly, S10 Mini, which we have been waiting for a long time, but Apple and Samsung did not want to show them to us in the same year, rolling out pass-through flagships. In the tenth Galaxy we will see a scattering of innovations that are truly important for us as users and for the industry as a whole.

We have been waiting for true framelessness for a long time, and it is already close. New processor also opens up wide opportunities for working with AR, video recording, and photo production. Therefore, we hope that we will see these and other changes early next year in the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Ruler Samsung smartphones The Galaxy S10 is somewhat revolutionary. This is not just a round serial number, but many technical solutions, albeit not always successful.

Galaxy S10, which is a mid-range device model range Samsung flagships tenth generation, has a triple camera with a resolution of 12, 12 and 16 megapixels with variable aperture and optical zoom.

The standard “ten” received technology similar to that found in the Galaxy A7. smartphone remained on Galaxy level S10e, and the maximum gradation of built-in storage has increased to 512 GB. The smartphone display has a diagonal of 6.1 inches, Quad resolution HD+ and built-in fingerprint scanner.

There are four versions of this smartphone in total. The most interesting of them is the limited edition Galaxy S10+ with 1 TB of internal memory and 12 GB of RAM. True, it did not find much response due to its high cost.

Ivan Kuznetsov 02/11/2020

For a long time The fashion for stripped-down versions of flagship smartphones was supported only by Chinese manufacturers. In any case, they thought that they supported it, because these were quite passable models with a rather mediocre filling, which provided them low price. And the only thing that made such devices similar to flagships was the identical name, flavored with the clarifying prefix Lite, so as not to cause confusion. There wasn’t much to complain about here, because you couldn’t just take and release a smartphone with top-end hardware for half the money. Or is it still possible?

Ivan Kuznetsov 03/02/2020

I already told you once. Perhaps to some of you my method will seem obvious or, on the contrary, meaningless, but it has never failed me. Another thing is that it is aimed mainly at devices of the same generation, which are included in the same price category. Therefore, for those who are primarily based not on price, but on the practicality of a particular model, when considering devices from different years of production, it will not be suitable. Let's fill the gap using the example of last year and the new S20.

Ivan Kuznetsov 12/20/2019

Samsung was one of the first to start releasing simplified versions of flagship smartphones, trying to make them as cheap as possible. True, in fact it turned out that there was nothing from the flagships in them except the name, to which the postscript Lite was simply added, therefore, from excess power and functionality such devices clearly did not suffer. Despite this, at first their sales were quite brisk, but over time, users began to understand that, under the guise of a cheaper flagship, they were being slipped an ordinary budget model, and demand for them stopped until Apple started releasing "real" shareware flagships. It was then that Samsung decided to return to the forgotten concept.

Ivan Kuznetsov 11/28/2019

Ivan Kuznetsov 11/27/2019

Despite the fact that performance has ceased to be a key indicator of the advancement of a smartphone, it still continues to grow, setting new records year after year. It has gotten to the point where the computing power of modern devices is very close to average computers, but they have not learned how to run games developed for desktop platforms. Apparently, this is due to more stringent requirements for graphics and processor architecture. But this does not mean that we should launch computer games It’s not possible at all on smartphones. Can.

Bureaucracy, along with negligence, is one of the reasons that provokes leaks of information about upcoming new products, which their manufacturers would probably like to keep secret until release. But if, in principle, it is possible to somehow combat negligence and unprofessionalism, then trying to defeat the bureaucracy is practically useless. Fighting her is like fighting a multi-headed monster. As soon as one head is cut off, a new and even more embittered one grows in its place. However, allegory aside.

Ivan Kuznetsov 11/11/2019

Despite the identical set of characteristics, Galaxy lines The S and the Galaxy Note have always been positioned as radically different. Samsung not only tried to space out their releases, separating one presentation from another by about six months, but also expanded the functionality of the Galaxy Note models compared to the Galaxy S devices. Therefore, those who wanted to get their hands on the new flagship early bought classic smartphones, and those Those who were expecting maximum bells and whistles were waiting for new phablets with pen support to hit the market. However, over time, Samsung came to the conclusion that this kind of segregation did not play into its hands, and therefore began to release updates that equalized the functionality of both lines.

Samsung Galaxy S10: specifications, release date, price, leaks, rumors, and latest news

According to the publication TrustedReviews, Samsung Galaxy 9 is one of best smartphones 2018, but the first really interesting rumors about the Galaxy S10 have already appeared. This publication contains all the known details about the Galaxy S10, including the release date and price.

After the launch of the Galaxy Note 9 last fall, the next flagship smartphone from Samsung will be the Galaxy S10, scheduled for release in 2019. It seems there is still a lot of time before the device hits the market, but rumors about the S10 are already spreading widely on the Internet.

Based on this information, we can assume that the Galaxy S10 will launch in early 2019. Another very high-tech foldable phone is expected to be released - the Galaxy X.

However, release dates will likely be different for the two devices. Thus, the Galaxy X will appear at CES 2019 in January, and the S10, presumably codenamed “Beyond”, will be launched at MobileWorldCongress 2019 in February.

You might think this sounds strange, and you wouldn't be wrong. Samsung has a strong presence at CES, but lately the corporation used this event to present its latest televisions and household appliances. At the show, major phone presentations haven't happened for several years.

MWC is more suitable for the launch of phones, since it is a specialized mobile event. Samsung executives probably assumed they wouldn't launch both phones at the same time. Ultimately, we don't know much more thanks to the report, however, as before, Q1 2019 is a great time to launch the Galaxy S10.

Samsung Galaxy S10 News: Revealed Galaxy sizes S10 and S10 Plus

Before this, it was assumed that the Galaxy S10, and not the Note 9, would be the first Samsung device, which will receive a built-in fingerprint scanner. The report states that the smartphone will feature a 3D camera module co-created with Qualcomm, meaning the device could feature the same facial recognition technology as the iPhone X.

According to according to The Bell, the Galaxy S10 will have a 5.8-inch screen, while the Galaxy S10 Plus will have a 6.3-inch screen. This duo will be approximately the same size as the S9 and S9 Plus.

This also means that the S10 probably isn't the same thing as the Galaxy X. Instead, there's a good chance that Samsung will release the Galaxy X as a special 10th anniversary device alongside the S10 and S10 Plus just like Apple last year with iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus launched iPhone X.

Galaxy S10 specs: latest rumors

This all completely echoes what we heard about the Galaxy S10 earlier.

Until a recent report from South Korea The bulk of the S10 rumors were provided by Weibo and Twitter tipsterIceUniverse.

So, today we know that the Galaxy S10 will receive a completely innovative Infinity Display, which will present an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93%, compared to 83.6% in the Galaxy S8 and S9. There are also hints that this can almost be considered confirmed information, given Samsung's history of introducing new models, we can expect the S10 to receive Samsung's next-gen Exynos chipset (EMEA), while in North America it will come with Snapdragon 855 SoC.

From another source it became known that the S10 will comply with the Universal Flash Storage (UFS) UFS 3.0 standard, which is two times faster than UFS 2.0 and 5G for mobile devices.

Finally, it's time to move on to the likely release date of the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S10: release date and price

As is already known, the Galaxy S10 will not go on sale until 2019, and there is already quite a lot of evidence of this today.

As we have already said, the presentation of the Galaxy S10 is expected to take place in the first quarter of next year.

As for the cost, the prices for the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus will probably be at a higher level.

Reports that the price for the Galaxy S9 will officially start from 839 euros, and for the S9 Plus from 947 euros. The cost of new models from Samsung in Russia is not yet known.
