If you have cleaned the edge of the squeegee, it must be sprinkled with toner or special talcum powder. If this is not done, the squeegee may “twist” and tear off from the base, which will lead to damage to the cartridge.

Now let's look at the cartridge device. It consists of two halves. The first is a half for waste toner. It is a container for collecting toner. During operation, not all of the toner is transferred from the photo roll to the paper; part of it is cleaned into this hopper using a squeegee. The second half is a container with toner, with which the cartridge “prints”. It also includes: a charging roller, a photo roller, a dosing blade and other auxiliary mechanisms.

Let's start disassembling the cartridge. To do this, unscrew the screws on the side covers of the cartridge. Further disassembly of the cartridge will depend on your desire and what you want to do with the cartridge. You can disassemble it almost to the ground, for example, to replace the photo roller or thoroughly clean the cartridge components, or you can limit yourself to partial disassembly. And this way and that way we must come to a result that should satisfy us. After unscrewing the screws, remove the side covers of the cartridge. Please note that under the cover opposite to the one shown in the photo, there are gears of the gearbox, be careful not to lose them.

We place the cartridge mat with the photo roller in front of us, with the handle facing away from us. Next, move the charging roller to the right and pull it out. Note the black grease on the left edge of the roller. This is a conductive lubricant and should not be removed. Next, carefully remove the photo roll and hide it in a hard-to-reach place, so as not to accidentally damage it.

The metering blade is a flexible metal plate that fits tightly against the developer roller and is designed to align and dispense toner. Thanks to the dispensing blade, the toner is evenly distributed over the surface of the roller. What's all this for? And here's what! The main defects of Samsung cartridges are precisely related to this blade, be it pale printing or whitish stripes in the image. The essence of the problem is that toner particles stick to the edge of the dispensing blade and interfere with the leveling of the toner layer on the developing roller. To get rid of these defects, you need to perform some manipulations, let's move on to them in the following pictures.

You can use the following method to clean the dosing blade. You need to take thin, thick cardboard or plastic, such as a business card, plastic card, and insert it between the dosing blade and the developing roller. This picture does not show the process very well; it is advisable to replace the side covers of the cartridge, since without them the developing roller will not be pressed sufficiently against the blade. And then, using movements along the roller, we try to clean the edge of the dosing blade. If you are not changing the photo roll and are not going to remove the metering blade, then it is not necessary to remove the side cover on the gear side, and it will be convenient for you, after cleaning the metering blade, to rotate the photo roll by its gear and look at the appearance of ring stripes on the development roller. If they remain, then you need to walk the business card along the shaft again. A little advice: the development shaft should rotate clockwise when looking at it from the side of the plug for pouring toner into the cartridge.

This picture, enlarged, shows how to insert the “cleaner” between the developing roller and the dosing blade. The meaning of this action is that the edge of the “cleaner” slides along the edge of the dispensing blade and cleans off toner build-up.

For those who want to do everything completely, you need to remove the dosing blade by first unscrewing two screws. Also pay attention to the spring on the left side of the blade. After unscrewing the screws, remove the blade.

Here it is, the very edge of the blade that needs to be cleaned. For the cleaning procedure, you can use a “cleaner” or other improvised materials with a slight hardness so as not to damage the blade. You can also use liquids, for example, Galosha gasoline.

In the photo you can see the location of the gears in the gearbox. If something suddenly falls out and you don’t figure out how to put everything back together, then using the picture you can do it without any problems.

We come to the final part of our instructions. It is necessary to reassemble the cartridge in reverse order. Install the dosing blade, then the photo roller. After this, you need to install the charging roller, having first cleaned it. To do this, you can use various liquids, for example, the same Galosh gasoline or rubber restoration liquid, or ordinary tap water with soap. In the latter case, the roller must be thoroughly dried. Also note that if the condition of the roller is normal, without visible defects or heavy deposits, then you can simply wipe it with a rag. Don't forget to lubricate the roller shaft.

After carrying out the preliminary assembly procedures, we proceed directly to refueling. Use a screwdriver to pry the plug and open it. Then you need to turn the cartridge over and shake everything out of it. You can also lightly tap the cartridge body with a screwdriver to more thoroughly clean the hopper of old toner. If you are the owner of a toner vacuum cleaner or a cartridge cleaning station, then it is better to perform this procedure with their help.

The easiest part remains! Take a jar of toner, shake it well, screw on the funnel and add the toner. Don't forget to close the cap. Next, install the side cover and screw on the waste bin. At the final stage, you need to turn the cartridge drum by the gear to make sure that the cartridge is not jammed. The rotation of the drum should be carried out towards the hopper with mining, i.e. counterclockwise when looking at the drum spine from the side of the cartridge plug. Voila! The cartridge is refilled.

A few words about the chips and fuses installed to protect cartridges from refilling. Everything is simple with fuses; there is a website that tells about them in detail.
