How to make it turn on automatically. Disable programs that start when you turn on your computer. An alternative way to automatically connect to the Internet

Hello. Today I decided to prepare a small instruction on how to add a program to startup. We will make the program automatically open immediately after turning on the computer. Yesterday I was asked this question and I decided that I needed to tell everyone how to do it.

You’ve probably already prepared the question: “What is this for?” Need friends, programs such as Skype, ICQ, etc. add themselves to the startup list and start when you turn on the computer, is it convenient? I think it’s convenient, but a lot of programs don’t know how to register themselves in startup, and that’s good. Can you imagine what a mess it would be when you turned on the computer if everything started to start? installed programs? But you most likely have a program that you launch yourself after Windows has fully loaded. My browser is Opera. After turning on the computer, I immediately open Opera and for some reason I’m sure that you do the same thing, except that you have a different browser. Why else turn on the computer now if not to surf the Internet :).

So, why not add this bowser (or any other program) to startup? If you still open it after starting the computer. Let's try it, it's very simple.

I’ll add Opera to startup as an example, and you can add absolutely any program, all we need is the shortcut from which the program is launched.

If you are interested, there are three ways that I know of that you can add a program to startup. This:

  1. Editing the registry.
  2. Editing a system file win.ini.
  3. Easily add a shortcut to a folder.

We will choose the third method because it is the simplest and will not harm the computer if the actions are performed incorrectly. And why bother digging through the registry or editing system files, if everything can be done simply and quickly.

In short, we need to copy the shortcut of the program we need to the folder. The easiest way to find this folder is in the Start menu.

So let's open it "Start", then “All programs” and right-click on the folder, select "Conductor".

A folder will open in Explorer and all programs whose shortcuts you put in this folder will launch automatically.

Therefore, we simply copy or transfer the shortcut to the program we need to this folder.

That's it, you can restart your computer and observe the result. If you want to remove a program from startup, simply delete its shortcut from this folder.

And do not forget that programs in startup slow down the process of turning on the computer, or rather the loading operating system. And not all programs that start automatically are located in this folder. For example, it was empty for me, but I have several programs in startup.

I wrote in detail about how to clean the startup list in the article. Read it, I think it will be useful. Best wishes!

If you are faced with the task of speeding up the loading of Windows, and you need to do this without using third party programs, then you definitely need to read this article. Since it contains simple, and most importantly effective ways to speed up the loading of the operating room Windows systems 7, the impact of which you can feel without a stopwatch.

When any computer starts working, the first thing it does is launch the BIOS (from English Basic Input/Output System - Basic system I/O), and therefore speeding up Windows startup should start with it. In BIOS(e) we are interested in two things: the boot priority queue, and the Fast boot function.
The latter can significantly speed up system startup by eliminating the search and check of the BIOS(s) of connected devices. However, this function has its drawbacks - by disabling it, the user disables the use of devices connected via non-standard connectors (USB, S-Video, hosts for mobile devices). They will start working after full launch Windows.

To speed up booting by configuring the BIOS, you must:

Important! The figure shows the "Download Queue" for Dell laptop Inspiron. It may vary slightly on other devices. As a rule, the differences concern only the visual component, while the names of bookmarks and commands are almost always identical (standardized) for all devices.

It should also be noted that Fast boot sometimes works too well. As a result, users do not physically have time to press the required button in time to re-enter the BIOS. This problem can be solved by pressing the opening button BIOS settings(a) before turning on the computer.

Second step

The next step to speed up booting refers to connecting all processor cores (if there is more than one) to start the operating system. To do this:

The manipulations performed will begin to work the next time the operating system is rebooted.

Step three

The next step is to turn off unnecessary programs and services that affect system startup.

Disabling services

Here you need to disable unnecessary services, since they load the system even if they are not used by the user. Especially when Windows startup. You can read in detail about what can be disabled and what is better left alone on the Internet, however, you can guess about some services yourself. For example, you don’t need Print Manager if you don’t have a printer.

The “service” is turned off by right-clicking on it and clicking “Properties”. After which a window will open, where in the “Startup type” column select “Disabled”.

Step four

Next, we configure which Windows programs are automatically launched when the system starts. Since so many programs like to be registered in autorun, the user not only does not use them, he does not even suspect that they are running.

Setting up Windows 7 startup

The changes you make will take effect the next time you start the operating system.

Step five

The last point to speed up the system startup is organizing busy with files space on the hard drive, in other words – defragmentation hard drive. This procedure is reminiscent of organizing the arrangement of books in a library. What is required to make it more convenient, quick search books (in our case files) and their use.

The disk defragmentation service in Windows 7 is launched by a separate command - defrag.exe. It must be entered into the search bar of the Start menu or in the Run window (Win + R).

By running this command, you will open the “Defragmentation” window, where you should select the disk on which the operating system is installed and start defragmenting it.

The defragmentation process can take a long time, sometimes several hours.

Also in this window, it is better to immediately enable the function of periodically running defragmentation by clicking “Set up schedule”.

And choosing the optimal launch parameters for you. After this, you can start defragmenting your hard drive.

Advice. You should not boot your computer during defragmentation; it is best to leave it until the process is finished.

Users sometimes complain that every time they start Windows Skype program opens automatically. The icon is thus permanently located on the taskbar. When you turn off your PC, Skype sometimes does not close itself. Windows often asks for confirmation to force shutdown because Skype remains open.

How can you prevent Skype from starting when you turn on your computer? Let's consider several ways.

Method number 1: through Settings

This method should be used first. In most cases, it solves the problem with turning on Skype.

1.Open the utility window. IN top panel Click on the “Tools” section and select the “Settings...” block.

2.In the tab " General settings"Uncheck the box next to 'Start Skype when Windows starts'. Click on the “Save” button.

Method number 2: using Startup

Autorun may be disabled in the messenger settings. What to do then if the Skype window still appears every time you restart the OS?

To prevent Skype from turning on automatically when you start your computer, remove the messenger from the list in Startup.

1.Open Start and select the Run window. It can be launched using the combination Win (Start key) + R.

2.Enter the msconfig command and click OK.

4.Find the Skype line there. You need to uncheck it.

5.Restart your computer. You will see that Skype no longer works.

Method number 3: use Registry Editor

This method Suitable for almost all versions of Windows OS, except version 10. It helps to disable Skype using the Registry Editor.

  1. Press the combination Windows (Start key) + R.
  2. In the Run window, type regedit and press Enter. This will launch Registry Editor. There will be two sections here.
  3. In the section on the left, go to the block HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
  4. Find Skype in the list in the section on the right.
  5. Press the Delete key on your keyboard and confirm that you want to delete the file.

Autorun and CCleaner

You can disable and enable autorun using third-party software, for example, CCleaner. Its main function is to clean and optimize the system.

1.Download and install the utility on your PC via official resource: http://ccleaner.org.ua/download/.

2.Open the “Service” section.

4. Find the program. Click on its name and click on the “Turn off” button, which is located to the right of the list.

To prevent Skype from starting, uncheck the option to enable the program in the settings. The launch will no longer occur. You can turn on the software only when you need it. At other times it will be turned off.

Automatic launch of a particular program when the computer boots up is convenient function, and it's worth using if you have a basic set of applications that you always keep open. Some programs have their own settings in which you can set them to start automatically every time new download Windows, others do not have similar functionality, but the operating system allows you to do this. In this article we will look at how to disable startup programs using Windows and, if necessary, enable automatic start individual applications.

Starting with Windows 7, the standard “Task Manager” of the operating system has a lot of useful functions and serves not only to terminate frozen programs and diagnose the load on computer components. In particular, the “Startup” item has appeared in the “Task Manager”, which displays all programs that automatically start when Windows boots. To get to this point, call the task manager by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys and select the “Startup” tab at the top of the window that opens.

To disable startup of an application in Windows through the “Task Manager”, you need to right-click on a specific program in the list and select “Disable”.

Please note that the Task Manager also displays the impact of a specific application on the startup speed of the operating system. Through the "Task Manager" you cannot add new programs to automatic loading when the computer starts.

How to enable or disable autorun of programs through the registry

The registry allows you to access almost any function of the operating system. In particular, through it you can configure a list of programs that are automatically loaded when Windows starts. To do this, you need:

  1. Press the Windows + R key combination on your keyboard and enter the command regedit;
  2. Next in the registry, go to the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run

It should be noted that according to the instructions above, program startup parameters are set for the user on whose behalf the registry is currently being edited. If you want to set parameters for all users, in the left side of the registry editing window, right-click on the Run folder and select “Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section.” After that, follow the procedures to add or remove a program from the startup list.

You can enable autoloading of individual applications through a special folder. It is enough to place a program shortcut in it so that it starts automatically every time booting Windows. To go to this folder, just press the Windows + R key combination on your keyboard and enter the command in the “Run” window shell:startup.

It should be noted that this folder does not contain all programs that are set to start automatically when the operating system starts. You cannot disable system applications through it.
