How to cancel automatic inclusion of programs. How to disable autorun of Windows programs. How to erase an application from the Control Panel

If your computer is running slowly and your hard drive space is overloaded, clear it of unnecessary programs and components, and also disable unnecessary processes and services. This can be done using standard Windows tools or using third-party programs.

Where do unnecessary programs come from?

What programs and processes can be removed in Windows 7

In Windows 7, there are three categories of data that load the system - programs, processes and services. The program is installed on the computer to perform the function required by the user. The process can be a system one, necessary for the correct operation of Windows 7, or a user one, launched along with the program. Services on the system start by default and are disabled through Computer Management.

Processes can be disabled through the “Task Manager” (instructions are given below).

Table: which processes can be disabled without harm to the system

Process Description
officeResponsible for the operation of Open Office.
reader_slAdobe Reader Accelerator.
hkcmdAn Intel process that accompanies computer hardware.
adobeARMChecks for Adobe Reader updates.
RAVCpl64Audio manager from Realteck.
CCCA control center for ATI video cards, only needed if you play games.
neroCheckLooks for conflicting drivers.
jqsSpeeds up Java programs.
juicyLooking for updates for Java.
wmpnetwkWindows Media Player search engine.
osppsvcProtection of MS Office 2010 programs.
sidebarResponsible for the operation of Windows 7 gadgets.
nwizResponsible for nVidia NView actions.
atiptaxxProvides access to the settings of ATI video cards.

Do not disable the Explorer.exe process - stopping it will remove desktop icons and the Windows taskbar.

Table: processes that cannot be disabled

Process Description
taskshotHost file.
msdtcTransaction coordinator for network systems.
smssWindows session management.
wininitAutorun programs.
winlogonLogin to Windows.
servicesStarting Windows services.
explorerDesktop, shortcuts.
spoolsySupports a print queue.
lsmManages the state of sessions.
taskmgrResponsible for the operation of the task manager.
searchindexerSearch indexing.
csrssResponsible for console applications.
sppsvcWindows platform protection.
svhostResponsible for network communication.
conhostFor processing console windows.
lsassMaintains local security for users.

If you are unsure whether the process can be terminated, open the location of the executable file. If it is located in the Windows system folder, you should not stop it.

Windows 7 prevents the user from completing some particularly important processes. When you reboot, the system starts them again.

In addition to processes, the Windows system runs services, some of which can be closed using the Computer Management menu without compromising the security of the PC. List of services that can be stopped:

  • fax;
  • Windows remote control;
  • remote registry;
  • remote desktops;
  • Bluetooth support;
  • remote desktop server;
  • secondary login;
  • smart card;
  • remote access auto connection manager;
  • distributed transaction coordinator (DTC);
  • ktmrm for KRT.

If you are not using a local network, disable the NetBIOS Support Module service and switch the Computer Browser service to manual mode.

The image download service cannot be disabled if a scanner or webcam is connected.

How to erase programs and stop processes on Windows 7

You can remove utilities and stop processes in several ways: through the Start menu, using the Control Panel and Task Manager, as well as using specially designed programs.

How to Uninstall Programs and Disable Services from the Start Menu

By opening Start, you can view the list of programs and remove some:

The disadvantage of this method is that after erasing a program using Windows, its files and residual entries in the registry are saved.

You can also stop services from the Start menu. To do this:

Do not disable all services in a row - some of them are responsible for the correct operation of Windows.

How to stop processes through Task Manager

To stop processes running in Windows, launch Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.

When you restart your computer, some processes and services start automatically. Therefore, to permanently disable it, remove the program that uses the process from startup (Task Manager, Startup tab) and disable the corresponding service.

The Startup tab displays a complete list of programs that start automatically when Windows 7 starts. Select the programs that you don't want open and uncheck the boxes next to them, then click OK. After restarting the computer, autorun will be disabled.

Other options for removing unused programs

Almost all installers prompt users to select a folder where the program files will be placed. By default, they install to the C:\Program files folder. Once you open the folder, you will see the software folders. To uninstall the program directly:

  1. Go to the folder of the utility that you will erase.
  2. Inside, find the Uninstall.exe file.
  3. Double click on the file with your mouse.
  4. An uninstaller window will open. Confirm the deletion and wait until the process completes.

A more complex method is to uninstall applications from the command line. To delete:

  1. Go to the command line. To do this, press Win+R and enter cmd in the “Run” window. Click OK.
  2. Enter the WMIC command and press Enter. You will see the inscription: wmic: root\cli.
  3. Enter the product get name request. After a while you will see a list of installed programs.
  4. Write: product where name = “exact name of the program” call uninstall. When writing the program name, be careful about case. If the name is entered incorrectly, pressing Enter will display error information.
  5. Press “Y” to confirm the procedure and wait until Method Execution successful appears.

Third-party programs to remove unnecessary files

Using Windows tools, erasing a program without “tails” is difficult. And developers come up with third-party applications - uninstallers. Instructions for working with some of them are given below.

PC Decrapifier

  1. Click Check for updates.
  2. In the window that opens, you will see the question “Are you using a new computer?” Answer without embellishment.
  3. Create a Windows recovery label and click Next.
  4. The program will automatically search for unused applications and present them in the form of a list.
  5. Select the checkboxes of the programs to be removed and click the Remove button.
  6. PC Decrapifier will prompt you to uninstall other programs manually. Perform as necessary.
  7. In the last window, uncheck the “Submit feedback” option and click “Finish”.

PC Decrapifier copes well with third-party software, toolbars and applications imposed when loading other programs.

  1. Launch CCleaner.
  2. On the left, select “Service”.
  3. Find the “Uninstall programs” sub-item.
  4. From the list, select the program to remove and click “Uninstall”. The “Delete” button is required to remove the name of the utility only from the list - it will not be possible to uninstall the application from the PC.

To disable/enable startup programs:

  1. Information about programs that start automatically with Windows will open.
  2. Select the program for which you want to disable startup and click “Turn off.”

CCleaner allows you to manage startup not only for Windows, but also for browser add-ons.

Good day, dear blog visitors. Today we will talk about how to disable startup programs on Windows 7. Because the more programs that open simultaneously with Windows, the slower the computer works.

Most users have noticed that the computer boots quickly after purchase, and after some time the loading time increases. Experienced owners explain this situation by saying that when installing new programs, games or utilities on a PC, additional components are automatically installed that make changes to the registry, and often to the startup registry.

It is in this situation that when you start the computer, some programs can automatically load in the background when you turn on the PC. Such actions can increase the load on RAM, which entails a long system load.

It is worth noting that with system autostart, not a large number of installed programs are opened, for example, launching an anti-virus program is necessary, since the utility checks the contents of the computer for the presence of viruses that could have come from the network, or the infection occurred from a flash drive or disk. Antivirus is very important and opening it will not greatly affect the startup time of windows.

However, if the start of the download is followed by the opening of additional programs, then such actions can increase the startup time by an order of magnitude. Most developers intentionally add data to the registry for installation, thereby promoting their programs.

It must be remembered that disabling all programs from startup is not advisable, since many programs work on security and data protection. The first thing you need to worry about is malicious utilities that leak into the system along with downloaded data or movies onto your computer from the Internet.

When viewing data, they are able to automatically download and install without creating shortcuts, this technique makes it very difficult to find a harmful file in order to delete it.

Quite often questions arise about how to get rid of such actions if opening programs are in the way and you don’t plan to use them.

Disabling programs in Windows 7 startup

There are several fairly simple ways to solve this problem.

  • By using Msconfig;
  • Cleaning with command CCleaner;
  • Cleaning the registry Windows 7.

Command utility on Windows

Through this function you can view all the data that is used as startup programs. Such a program is launched using the “Start” command and the “Run” command.

After such simple steps, a whole list opens in front of the user that launches with instead of the system. Here you need to find out whether the program is malicious or simply interferes with the PC loading. If you have problems identifying the utility, you can use a special tab where information about the program and what it is responsible for will be available.

When performing such actions, you must clearly know which program you are removing from the download. It is very important to ensure that you do not disable anti-virus systems, since such an action can have a detrimental effect on the operation of the computer itself. Such programs completely protect your computer from malicious files.

Having selected the necessary (or rather, not necessary) utilities, uncheck the boxes next to their names and click “Ok”. After completing these steps, you should restart the computer to consolidate the work done, but this is not necessary.

Almost every program installed on a computer strives to put itself in startup. Therefore, there are more and more icons in the system tray (Tray - next to the clock), and the loading time of the operating system is increasing every day!

In most cases, there is no need to automatically download programs. How to disable autoloading of the program and reduce the number of icons near the clock?

Removing programs from startup in Windows 7 is done like this.

Press the START button 1, then enter the word in the search line 2 msconfig and press the search button 3. Although, most likely, you will not need to press a button - the search will be performed automatically.

Rice. 2

Under the name msconfig, 1 program was found (Fig. 2). Click on the name msconfig.exe

Rice. 3

The System Configuration window will open (Figure 3). In this window, select the Startup tab (circled in red pencil).

Rice. 4

. Its general appearance is as in Fig. 4. The only programs you will have are those that are on your computer, and not the same as mine.

In the list of startup items, identify those programs that blatantly load when Windows starts, place their icons next to the clock, and sometimes even open their dialog boxes when no one asked them to!

In my picture you see: programs that run automatically are ticked. But this is the tip of the iceberg! Below is a list several times larger of programs whose autorun is disabled.

Your actions on this tab are to remove checkmarks from programs that are loaded without permission when Windows starts, and you don’t want that!

Of course, by name Startup item It can be difficult to determine which program this item belongs to. Then look at the folder of which program the Command leads to. If you cannot see the entire Command line, then use your mouse cursor to drag the separator element between the words Command and Location to the right. Then the whole line will open.

Antivirus programs and firewalls do not need to disable autoloading.

In addition, for example, I have the Punto Switcher program that automatically switches Russian and English keyboard layouts. When you work on the Internet, this program is simply irreplaceable. Naturally, you will get tired of launching it yourself every time. Therefore, the best option is when it is in startup.

But the programs Download Master, Adobe Reader and many others can be launched if necessary - why do they need to hang around in startup all the time.

After you remove the checkmarks from some programs, click the Apply and then OK buttons (Fig. 4). The following message appears.

Rice. 5

If you want to immediately admire the result of your actions, then click the Reboot button. And if you are not in a hurry, then click the Exit button without rebooting, and all the changes you have made will take effect after the next shutdown of the computer or reboot.

If the result is unexpected - somehow I accidentally turned off the system clock along with the language bar, don't worry! Just check the boxes again, reboot and everything will return to its place!

Removing programs from startup in Windows XP

In Windows XP, removing programs from startup is done like this. Click the Start button and open the main menu.

Rice. 6

In the main menu, click the Run button.

Rice. 7

The Launch Program window will open. In the Open field type: msconfig and click OK.

Rice. 8

The System Settings window will open in front of you. You will see 6 tabs in it. There are five tabs and you don't need to touch anything! Immediately click the cursor on the tab -. Its general appearance is as in Fig. 8. Only the programs you will have are the ones you installed, and not the same as mine.

In my picture you see: green checkmarks indicate programs that start automatically. But this is the tip of the iceberg! Below is a list several times larger of programs whose autorun is disabled.

Look through the list of programs and remove the green checkmark in front of the programs that you think are unnecessary.

After you select the startup items to disable, click the Apply and then OK buttons (Fig. 8). The following message will immediately appear.

Rice. 9

If you want to immediately admire the result of your actions, then click the Reboot button. And if you are not in a hurry, then you press the Exit button without rebooting, but the changes you make will still take effect after the next shutdown of the computer or reboot.

Disabling startup in Windows XP and Windows 7 is similar, so in order not to repeat yourself, you can see my tips under Figure 4.

Disabling programs in Windows 10 startup

It’s easier and faster to disable startup programs in Windows 10 via Task Manager.

To open the Task Manager, press the keys Ctrl+Shift+Esc and a window appears in front of us:

Disabling startup programs in Windows 10

In the Task Manager window, click the Startup tab. The tab displays a list of programs installed on your computer, where the Startup Status is indicated: enabled or disabled.

Click on the program for which you want to disable autoloading. The line will be highlighted in blue1. Click the Disable 2 button and autorun of this program during Windows boot will not work.

By the way, on button 2, instead of the Disable command, Enable will appear. That is, if you accidentally disabled the wrong program, you can correct the error and, by pressing the button again, enable autoloading of this program.

Sometimes a situation arises when you need to disable autorun of some programs in Windows 7 in order to reduce significant resource consumption and speed up the computer, namely Reduce system boot time when turned on.

The fact is that some programs, after installation, set themselves to autostart when you turn on the computer.

Now we will look at several ways to disable autorun of programs that you do not need.

But be careful, because some programs are necessary for the system to operate and are utility programs. Disabling them may affect some functionality of the Windows 7 operating system and its security.

We remove programs from the startup folder through the start menu

This method may already be familiar to you; if you have been using a computer for a long time, you could accidentally discover it yourself without any additional information, but for beginners the information may still be new.

Go to the Start menu > All Programs and find the Startup folder.

Everything that is there starts when the computer is turned on. To prevent these programs from running, simply remove them from there.

We use the standard Windows 7 utility - MSConfig

This utility, MSConfig, is already on your computer by default and you don’t need to install it, you just need to run it and use it.

And it’s very simple to launch it:

Open the Start menu again and type msconfig in the search bar.

It will be found immediately, all you have to do is click on its shortcut to launch it.

If for some reason you don’t have a search bar in the Start menu, you can simply press the Win+R key combination and the following window will open:

Enter msconfig there and click OK.

As a result, the msconfig utility should start. It looks like this:

Go directly to the Startup tab. By unchecking the boxes you will disable unnecessary programs. But if you don’t understand what each of them is responsible for, then it’s better not to disable it.

After you click OK, you will be prompted to restart your computer, but you don't have to.

This utility is very convenient, but it is also not functional enough, because... is not able to provide us with the ability to disable absolutely all (any) programs from startup.

So we'll look at a few more ways.

Manual removal from the Windows 7 registry

Launch the registry editor. To do this, press the usual key combination “Win + R” or again in the search bar in the “Start” menu we type the words “regedit”.

A very scary, incomprehensible window opens with many folders that look more like gobbledygook than names.

But we are not afraid, but calmly understand everything and gain knowledge!

Among these folders, in the distant wilds, there are two autorun sections of the “seven”:

general (local registry), which is used for all users, the address is:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

personal register - for the current user, at the following address:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

That is you need to go to the Run folder, expanding the folder tree one by one.

They contain files that run along with Windows and you can easily delete them as usual - by right-clicking and selecting “delete”.

You can first go to the first address, clean it there, and then start on the second.

Disabling autorun of programs using third-party software

Now we will talk about the third-party program Autoruns, which is distributed completely free of charge (freeware), but at the same time is very powerful and functional - in just a couple of clicks it can disable absolutely everything that can automatically start when you turn on the computer.

Download Autoruns program You can follow the link from the official website: http://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip(521 KB)

At the office The website has an English version, but we can easily understand it, even without knowledge of this foreign language.

The downloaded archive has a .zip extension and can be unpacked with any archiver.

There are 4 files in the folder. We are interested in “autoruns.exe”, which we launch (it is advisable to right-click on the file icon and select “run as administrator”).

When we first launch, we will be asked to accept the license agreement, which we will do by clicking on the “Agree” button.

The program looks like this:

We immediately see the “Everything” tab, which is a list of absolutely all startup objects.

But in order not to get lost there, there are tabs in which all this is broken down separately: Winlog, Drivers, Explorer, etc.

If you uncheck the box, we will disable autorun. If you click on a line, below you can see a description of the object: the version of the program, where it is located on the computer, size, etc.

In the “Logon” tab there is a list of programs that we could disable using the previous methods described in the article.

You may notice that some lines are highlighted in pink - these are simply objects that do not have a detailed description, and those whose files are deleted and can no longer be loaded, but are simply listed, are marked in yellow. Those. they may not be deleted.

Again, be careful when disabling something you know nothing about. Perhaps this is necessary for the main operation of Windows 7 and after disabling these services, the computer will not work as it should.

For the laziest we provide video tutorial of the whole process:

For most users of personal computers and laptops, it is no secret that the more programs that start automatically when you turn on the computer, the slower it loads. This is obvious, because in this case, system resources, in addition to loading itself, are also spent on launching these same programs. Therefore, one of the most effective and, at the same time, simple methods is to remove all unnecessary things from startup.

How to disable automatic startup of programs in Windows?

Developers of the Windows operating system. This is done as follows. Regardless of the version of Windows, you need to press the “Windows” + “R” button combination.

The combination of the “Win” + “R” buttons on the keyboard

The Run window will appear.

Open the system configurator with the msconfig command

In it you need to type the command “MSCONFIG” without quotes and click “OK”.

In the window that opens, go to the “Startup” tab, where you will find all the necessary functionality for disabling programs that start when you turn on the computer.

To disable autoloading of the program, you need to uncheck the box next to it and click “Ok”.

When you go to the Startup tab, a link to the task manager will be provided. Since it is through it that the autorun of programs is carried out.
