How to set up wifi for byfly. How to connect ByFly WiFi. ByFly WiFi connection and setup

Usually connecting WiFi ByFly does not cause any particular difficulties. However, some users have difficulty setting up their modem or router. We will discuss how to connect ByFly WiFi further. The questions proposed for consideration are standard, and the popular modification “Promsvyaz-M200” will be highlighted as the router model under consideration. For ByFly, setting up a modem is not the most difficult operation. But first things first.

How to connect ByFly WiFi: necessary primary conditions

First of all, when concluding an agreement for the provision of services, pay attention to the indication in it of specific data such as login and password that will be used when connecting to the network.

The second point is related to the equipment received from the provider. First you just need to connect the router to your computer and install drivers for it. If the operating system is installed in automatic mode did not produce, you need to use a special disk that contains all the necessary software. It must be included when purchasing the main equipment.

Finally, you should make sure that your laptop or desktop computer there is a module wireless communication WiFi, the appropriate drivers are installed for it, and it works normally. You understand that without the presence of such a module in the system and drivers installed for it, we can talk about wireless connection no need to. Separately, please note that on some laptop models, communication can be enabled using a special switch on the side panels, keyboard shortcuts using FN, or some other method. This is very important, since further consideration of the issue of an Internet connection without this makes no sense.

Checking the connection diagram

As a rule, in the question of how to connect ByFly WiFi, connecting the modules should not be a problem either. For these purposes, a standard cable with RJ-45 connectors, also called a patch cord, is used.

On ByFly? It's simple. The provider cable is connected to the main device, but to configure the device itself you will have to use a direct connection to the terminal initially. This is only necessary at the first stage of setting the required parameter values, and will not be required later. After saving the settings, they will be applied to the entire virtual network.

Setting up WiFi on ByFly Promsvyaz

So, the circuit is turned on and working. The first step in solving the problem of how to set up WiFi on ByFly will be to enter the router interface, which, in fact, will be responsible for providing communication.

To do this, we use any web browser installed on the system (even the same Internet Explorer or Edge, present in Windows 10). From software This type doesn't really depend on anything.

Interface access

Now for ByFly WiFi modem configuration will be carried out according to the diagram below. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. In the standard configuration, admin is used as the login and password. If the router gives an error for some reason, the settings can be reset by pressing the corresponding button on the back of the device or disconnecting it from electrical network for about 10-15 seconds.

Some users advise maintaining a longer interval (about 15 minutes), but I think this is not necessary.

Now the question of how to set up WiFi on ByFly comes to the most basic part. We entered the router interface. We use the Interface Setup tab, where initially you need to set the connection type to PPPoE (ISP field).

At this stage, the question boils down to the following: you will need to enter the login and password that were specified in the contract. Next, which is very important, you need to set activation in the Bridge Inetrface field (check the Activated box).

Similar actions are performed for the Default Route line with reconnection on demand set at 30 minutes.

Save the changes and go to the Wireless tab. Now WiFi setup ByFly (“Promsvyaz” modem is taken simply as an example) involves entering the following parameters:

  • activate Access Point;
  • set Broadcast SSID to Yes;
  • in the title field network SSID enter any arbitrary name;
  • in the authentication type select PSK2-WPA;
  • In the Pre-shared key field, enter the created connection access password;
  • save the changes by clicking the Save button.

System Settings

In theory, after all the operations performed, both the connection and the network should work. But it also happens that the operating system automatically installed settings does not perceive. In this case, the question of how to connect ByFly WiFi will come down to changing some parameters of the network adapter.

To do this, you will need to log in to the network management section and shared access, which is located in the standard “Control Panel” (it can also be called with the ncpa.cpl command from the “Run” console).

Here you need to select the one you need network connection and go to the section for changing network adapter properties. In the network properties, select the IPv4 protocol settings (as a rule, the main connection option uses the fourth version, not the sixth).

For the gateway we set 192.168.1.1, and for our own internal address we change the last digit to 2. Receiving DNS addresses, if everything works, can be left to receive settings automatically.

What to do if DNS doesn't work?

But what to do when the connection does not work even with automatically configured settings? In most cases, the problem of how to connect ByFly WiFi can be solved by setting DNS server addresses manually.

This means specifying parameters from the configuration of fours and eights based on free Google services. Don't like this option? Use Yandex settings or just make full reset settings with clearing the DNS cache in command line ipconfig /flushdns.

After executing the command, it is advisable to reboot the system and make sure it is working.

Proxy preference issues

Along the way, it is worth noting the fact that in some systems the use of proxy servers for local addresses is enabled by default. This setting affects the network and access to computers located on it.

In the IP protocol settings you need to go to additional options and disable the use of a proxy, if this is not provided for by the communication settings of the provider itself. It is doubtful, of course, that a proxy is initially used, however, it does not hurt to check the settings. In addition, you can even experiment with addresses. You can enter the IP manually, but only in such a way that it differs from the gateway address by at least four to five tens. That is, if the last digit of the router is 0 or 1, the address of the computer must include the value 40 or 50 at the end.

Finally, another reason why the connection is not working could be the use of a VPN. At least at the stage of accessing unblocked resources, it is advisable to disable this function. And the Internet speed will be higher, and the waiting period for a response from the site will be reduced, otherwise you will just end up with a 504 error like Gateway Timeout, which indicates the unavailability of the main gateway, or, more simply, the router itself, which is what the router or modem is.

Brief summary

As you can already understand from all the material presented above, the WiFi ByFly connection itself is not particularly complicated. In principle, all actions are very much reminiscent of connecting to the Rostelecom provider (at least the main parameters of the router and its settings used look the same). The only difference is that the first operator very often uses the Bridge scheme, and the second is based on the network operating in PPPoE mode. Otherwise, having understood these simple rules for setting up a connection, you can apply them to any devices and operators (providers), if for some reason automatic installation parameters turns out to be impossible.

First, check the completion of all technical parts.

Need to check that all cables have been installed and connected, or rather connected correctly. The byfly service should be activated And replenished, if there is no money, then, accordingly, neither will the Internet.

Let's check connection of all main wires:

  1. The modem must be included to the network.
  2. Must go to him telephone cable.
  3. From modem to system unit There must be a cable running, and the LED must light up next to the input.

We're done with the wires. Sometimes this can save a lot of time later.

Now let's clarify whether there is compound between PC and modem.

To do this you need launch browser Internet Explorer, it can be found in any Windows versions. In Windows 10 it is also available and can be found through search or in desktop applications.

Now you should try come in in the modem settings - to do this, enter in the top line of the browser 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 .

When these numbers are entered you will be taken to the login page. This means that the connection to the modem has been established. If it says that the page was not found, then on the contrary - there is no connection.

Setting up pppoe

To create a pppoe connection do this:

  1. Opening start menu.
  2. Let's go to control Panel.

  6. Click create a new connection.

In the line where you need to enter the username, enter contract number byfly and add to these numbers @beltel.by, it will turn out something like [email protected] .

In line password introduced home phone number.

Now we check Is everything done correctly? An internet icon should appear at the bottom near the clock. Click on it and then the button connect. After this, the Internet will turn on.

Now you can go into the browser and calmly surf the Internet.

WiFi setup

Let's go to control Panel router, how to do this has already been said, enter in the browser from above 192.168.1.1 , the login page will open, there we indicate in the lines admin And admin and we get into control Panel.

  1. In the menu at the top, first go to Interface Setup, and then in Wireless.
  2. Finding the parameter PerSSID Switch and give it a value Activated.
  3. Thus wifi activated, all that remains is to configure the network.

Where it is written SSID introduced Name future access point. Values Authentication Type And Encryption These are security settings, we set them as in the screenshot.

Pre-Shared Key is the password value future network, that's at least 8 characters from various letters and numbers.

All you have to do is click SAVE and you're done.

How to change your WiFi password

  1. By entering 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 at the top of the browser, we get to the modem settings panel.
  2. On the page that appears, indicate admin and admin and we will be allowed into settings panel modem
  3. There we go to Interface SetupWireless.
  4. We need an item Pre-Shared Key Enter the required password there.
  5. Click SAVE and you're done.

How to forward a port

If your uTorrent indicator lights up green, as in the screenshot, then everything is fine. The port opened and data began to flow through it.

A few notes related to setting up the modem:

  1. If you have set all the recommended settings, but nothing helped, then do reset(reset all settings) of your modem, and configure everything again.
  2. Check or find out the settings for your area VPI/VCI.

Using step by step instructions described below, you can easily configure the ByFly router via the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem.

Connecting a modem to a PC

Before you start setting up the M-200A modem, you must:

  1. turn on the computer;
  2. check the network equipment on it;
  3. if necessary, update drivers on network adapters;
  4. Now you need to connect the power cable to the Promsvyaz router and connect it to the power supply;
  5. Insert a twisted pair cable into any port of the modem, which is larger than a telephone cable and has a thick connector, and connect its other end to the computer into the network port;
  6. Insert the phone cable into the corresponding connector of the router (LINE) and into the MODEM connector. And its LINE connector is in telephone socket. Connect the phone itself to the PHONE connector of the splitter.

Press the power button on the router; it is located on the right side on the back of the case, near the antenna. Make sure all the lights are lit or flashing green as shown in the photo.

If the computer does not see the modem, then most likely it is on it old system or viruses. Reinstall Windows or update your antivirus.

The M-200A modem is configured by default in bridge mode, that is, it connects the computer and the Internet provider. But every time you access the Internet, you need to connect through a special shortcut. This brings some inconvenience, so it is better to configure a modem in the router. Then the computer and other devices will receive the Internet immediately from the M-200A.

Device in “router” mode

The router is designed to control other devices on the network. It distributes IP addresses, so several devices can access the Internet from one connection. Click on the Lan tab in the Interface Setup section to check the DHCP settings. In general, it is configured automatically in 90% of cases, so it is better to double-check. It is DHCP that assigns IP addresses on the network, and DNS that converts domain names into ones that the browser can understand. Therefore, to configure the M-200A modem in router mode, compare the data on the tab and what is in the figure.

Now you know all the ways to connect the ByFly Internet and configure the Promsvyaz M-200A modem.

Among the many providers in Russia and the CIS countries, there is the provider ByFly (Beltelecom). As the name implies, the provider is Belorussian. When concluding an agreement with him to provide access to the Internet, the provider gives each subscriber as a gift a byfly router - Promsvyaz M-200A, which is based on the Chinese device ZTE ZXV10 W300.

Router Promsvyaz M-200A

In technical language, this technique is called rebranding, which in our time is a very common and popular method of doing business. All you need to do is place your logo on the device’s body, develop and install proprietary firmware, and you’re done.

So, in some ways, this device can be considered a router from the ByFly provider.

Router appearance

The appearance of the router is somewhat old-fashioned, on top panel Promsvyaz logo on the back of the passive ventilation slot for cooling the router.

On the front panel there are indicator LEDs, not covered by any panel. A very rare occurrence, suggesting that the router was “made on the knees” by some radio electronics enthusiast.

Front panel of the router

What is also disappointing is that the LEDs are not labeled in any way, without any icons or designations. What each of them means is a mystery; you need to refer to the instruction manual.

But, on the other hand, in terms of operation, the router is doing very well; you can simply place it under the table and the “strangeness” of the indicators will simply be indifferent.

Rear panel

On the back panel of the device there is a connector for connecting a power adapter, a button to turn on the router, a reset button, four LAN ports and one WAN port.

Rear panel of the router

If your router was issued to you by your provider and not purchased in a store, then the provider has already configured the router byfly with the following configuration:

    The first three LAN ports are free and can be used to connect local network computers;

    The fourth LAN port is configured only for connecting IP television; connecting computers to it is impossible and useless;

    Only the first three LAN ports can be used for configuration;

    DHCP (automatic distribution of IP addresses) is enabled only on the first three LAN ports;

    The wireless Wi-Fi network is named “BELTELECOM WIFI”;

    The router is configured in “bridge” mode; to access the Internet, you must establish a connection manually. For automatic connection you need to switch it to “router” mode; later in the article this will be described in detail and a video tutorial will be provided.

A wire from the provider is connected to the WAN port. All LAN ports are numbered, the number is located next to each port. The Internet access service is called “ByFly”, the Internet television service is called “zala”.

Setting up the router

Next, we’ll figure out how to go into the settings and how to configure the byfly router. Before starting the setup, you need to connect to the router, since the setup is carried out through the device’s web interface. You can connect either network cable, or via Wi-Fi, but a wired connection is preferable.

Having connected to the network with a computer, open any web browser and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.

Network IP address of the machine

The router will immediately display a window asking you to enter your login/password. Enter the word “admin” in both fields.

User identification

The case of letters matters, we write only in small letters. Next, we’ll configure it into router mode, in which it will automatically communicate with the provider after turning it on.

Configuring the device in “router” mode

First of all, we get an agreement with the provider; now we will need a username and password to access the Internet. They should not be confused with the username/password for entering the settings menu.

Setting up in “router” mode

In the “Encapsulation” window area, select the “PPPoA/PPPoE” item. At this moment, an additional area “PPPoA/PPPoE” will appear, in which we enter the user name from the contract in the “User Name” field, and enter the password in the “Password” field. We set the “Bridge Interface” parameter to “Yes”, “Default Route” is also “Yes”. Click the “Save” button.

That's it, now in the morning, when you turn on the router to the network, after loading it will automatically log in to the provider and configure Internet access.

Setting up a Wi-Fi network

Now let's set up the point Wi-Fi access. In the same “Interface Setup” menu, select the “Wireless” submenu.

Wi-Fi setup

We set the “PerSSID Switch” parameter to the “Activated” position, and enter the name of our wireless network in the “SSID” field. The “Authentication Type” item is responsible for the security of our network, upon request of which, when trying to connect to Wi-Fi networks you will be prompted for a password. Select “WPA-PSK”, in the “Encryption” field select “TKIP”, and finally in the “Pre-Shared Key” field we come up with and write a password.

Attention! The password must consist only of letters of the English alphabet and numbers, or preferably mixed, and the password must be at least eight characters long!

That’s it, click the “Save” button so that the changes take effect and are saved in the router’s memory.

Setting up LAN ports

Select the “LAN” submenu.

Setting up LAN ports

In the “Main IP Address” field you can change the network IP address of the router. Same thing with the subnet mask on the second line. If desired, you can also disable the automatic distribution of IP addresses to other computers on the network by setting the “Disabled” position in the “DHCP” area. In this case, each machine on the network will have to assign a network address manually.

You can also specify alternative addresses DNS servers, which are responsible for converting the site’s IP address into a name that is familiar to us (for example, “rambler.ru” for a computer is more “understandable” as 81.19.70.3).

Updating the router firmware

On the Internet you can find alternative versions of firmware developed not by the device manufacturer, but by individual fans. Although there are no guarantees for these firmwares, they often work much more stable than the factory versions and can boast additional functionality.

Firmware update

If you decide to update the firmware at your own peril and risk, then download the file with the firmware to your desktop, then go to the “Maintenance” menu, and then to the “Firmware” submenu.

Next, click the “Browse” button, select our downloaded file in Explorer, and click the “Firmware Update” button. The update process will begin with a graphical indicator bar, after which the router will automatically reboot.

Finally, a video tutorial on how to set up a modem in byfly router mode:

The method for setting up home Wi-Fi depends on the selected equipment. A wireless network is organized using one of two methods: by directly connecting a telephone cable to Wi-Fi router with ADSL support or a serial connection between a modem and a regular router.

Setup by a Byfly specialist

Byfly provider provides free setup Wi-Fi router when connected. It is performed by company specialists, visiting the client. According to the terms of the contract, such adjustment is made only once. If in the future the router settings are reset or you need to change them, you can order paid service for setting up Wi-Fi.

Pay attention! If necessary, the client device is provided to Byfly users for rent, without making any additional payment.

Wi-Fi access cards

Byfly has developed a prepaid access system for using a wireless network in public places. After authorization at any Bayfly point in Belarus, the login page will open in the browser. If you have already purchased a Wi-Fi card, remove the protective coating on back side. Enter the login and password that are below it in the “Authorization” section.

Wi-Fi can also be accessed without a physical Byfly card. Moreover, 15 minutes of wireless Internet use are provided free of charge. Pay more minutes you can on the same page, using bank card. To do this, enter the number mobile phone in the text field on the right and select the required time.

Advice! Avoid mistakes when entering a phone number. If you pay for Wi-Fi with a plastic card, the details for connecting to Byfly will be sent via SMS to the specified number.

Self-configuration of Wi-Fi router

Divide the laid into the room telephone line using an ADSL filter (splitter). Such adapters are usually included with modems and ADSL routers. They allow you to separate Byfly Internet data and voice frequencies. The filter outputs are labeled, such as "Modem" and "Phone". Connect the devices to the appropriate connectors.

If your Byfly provider provides an ADSL router, connect a cable between the filter and the router. Connect the device to your computer via the Ethernet output. When using a separate modem and Wi-Fi router, connect the devices in the following sequence:

  1. Insert the telephone cable connected to the splitter into the “Line” connector on the modem.
  2. Connect the modem and router with a UTP cable. On the router, use a separate connector, which is usually indicated in blue.
  3. Connect the router to the computer through any of the remaining ports.

Plug in the equipment and go to the control panel through any browser. The address for logging into the web interface is indicated on a sticker or in the instructions for the router. The data is also located there account, installed by default. Enter your username and password in the login window.

The menu path for setting up Wi-Fi depends on the model of equipment used. On the popular ADSL router D-Link DSL-2640U, configure wireless network for Byfly you can in the “Wireless” section. On the “Basic” tab, make sure that “Enable Wireless” is active (checked). If you want to make a hidden Wi-Fi network, check the “Hide Access Point” checkbox. In the “SSID” field, enter the desired name.
