Reason 1: Brush size

Check the print size of the tool you are using. Perhaps it is so large that the outline simply does not fit into work area editor. Some brushes downloaded from the Internet may have these sizes. Perhaps the author of the set created a high-quality tool, and for this it is necessary to set huge dimensions for the document.

Reason 2: CapsLock key

The developers of Photoshop have included one interesting function in it: when the key is activated "CapsLock" the outlines of any instruments are hidden. This is done for more precise work when using small size (diameter) tools.

The problem is in Photoshop, the text is not printed, the sidebar is not displayed, the panel has disappeared altogether, for some reason the mouse cursor has disappeared, I cannot use a brush, because instead of a standard circle there is some kind of dot. The cursor has disappeared or changed its shape

Problem: After working with various tools, you return to using the Brush and find that your cursor has changed its shape. And now it's difficult for you to paint because you can't see the size of the brush you're using. And without this, it is very difficult to draw or do any work with a brush. So what happened? What to do if now the cursor of a regular brush has turned into some kind of sight?

This means that while working, you accidentally pressed CapsLock. Click on it again, and the shape of your brush will return to normal.

The panel on the sides is missing

What to do if the panel on the side is missing? Like the picture below:

Problem: It’s not clear what you did, but all the panels except the top one are divided somewhere, and you don’t know how to get them back?

Solution: Just press "Tab" and all panels will return at once, like in the picture below:

Solution : Everything is fine, perhaps you just selected some objects, and they are still selected, even if you don’t see it, to solve this problem you can press the key combination: Ctrl + D (Reset all selections)

If you are working with masks, then perhaps your brush is not drawing, because of this, try pressing the Q key to quickly change modes, and the brush should start painting.

If such a problem appears, press the key combination: Ctrl+K and go to the settings, as shown above, there check the box next to Export ClipBoard.

Problem: If you remember, in more earlier versions Photoshop (Photoshop) all new documents opened each in its own window, with the advent of new versions, photographs began to open in tabs, how can I make everything open separately again?

Solution: Press the key combination Ctrl + K and then select Interface from the list on the left and uncheck the “Open in a new tab” checkbox. Having problems with quotes

To decide this problem, you need to disable Smart Quotes. Press: Ctrl + K. Then go to Type, and there uncheck Smart Quotes.

Solution: Press the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + K => Next, find Under the General tab the following: Zoom Resizes Windows. Check the box next to it and that’s it :)

To solve this problem, we will press Ctrl+K next, in the left block we will select Performance. And uncheck the drive that is full, leaving checkmarks on those drives where there is free space.

The solution is very simple, press Ctrl+K and then go to Performance => There will be a submenu Used memory, as in the picture above, configure it at your discretion, for example, the Ideal variation very often does not offer bad decision, but you see for yourself, everything is in your hands. So, first things first.

Brush size is not visible in Photoshop, how to fix it

One day, when I, being a novice computer user and a novice in the information business, was making my first book cover, my brush disappeared.

More precisely, instead of a brush, I saw only a cross, from which it is difficult to determine the true size of the brush.

Although, before that, everything was fine with the brush. I began to think about why the usual cursor circle might have disappeared.

After using the brush normally, I switched to the text tool.

Wrote the title on the cover in mode Caps Lock, that is, in capital letters.

After that, I again selected the brush tool, but it was in the form of a cross.

Looking at the keyboard, I noticed that I had not switched the layout to its previous state, that is, I had not disabled Caps Lock.

After pressing this button, my brush became the same - a circle appeared showing the size of the brush!

Like this in a simple way I returned my instrument to its original appearance.

However, there are situations when the brush size is not visible in Photoshop for other reasons, and we will look at them below.

Settings

If you have Caps Lock disabled, and there is still a cross instead of a circle, then go to the program settings, it is quite possible that the problem lies there.

Click the tab - edit and in the drop-down list, go down to the very bottom to the word - installation.

By moving the cursor to it, you will open another menu in which we need to select – cursors.

After clicking on the line, the settings for this tool will open. That is, here you can specify how the active tool cursor will look in Photoshop.

By selecting the exact cursor, you will receive a cross. However, it is difficult to judge the size of the brush.

And by selecting the normal brush tip, you will receive a circle indicating the size of the selected tool.

By the way, you can also choose a full-size brush tip, which indicates the size more accurately. That is, with a soft brush, not only the area to be painted is shown, but also the area to be blurred.

Scale

If all of the above methods do not work in your case, then it is quite possible that your tool is too large.

For example open image equals six hundred pixels. And the size of the active brush is five thousand pixels.

In fact, you will not see the boundaries of the selected tool in any case, since they are much larger than the image.

You will only see the central part, that is, the cross in the center of the brush.

You can see the actual size of the brush at top panel, in the tool settings.

There you can specify the size you need and adjust the hardness of the brush.

Here you can also choose the shape of the brush from those available. And if you don’t find the brush you need, it’s not difficult to add it.
