Activate the universal remote control. Universal remote control for TV, how to set it up? Automatic tuning algorithm

The Rostelecom TV set-top box comes with a universal remote control remote control. A convenient device that allows you to control your TV and TV receiver at the same time.

The Interactive TV package from Rostelecom includes Universal remote A remote control that can be configured to work both on a set-top box and on a TV. The main convenience is that now you don’t need to use two devices by programming one RTK remote control. This can be done for almost anyone modern TV. In the box with the set-top box you will find a user manual describing all the digital setup codes for various manufacturers.

There are two ways to program the remote control:

By manufacturer code;
automatic search of all codes recorded in the remote control memory.

Connection according to manufacturer's code

2. Using the remote control, dial 4 digits of the code corresponding to your TV model (see code table
TVs below). If the code is entered correctly, the LED will blink twice. If the LED lights up at
for a long time, repeat steps 1-2.
3. Try sending a command from the remote control to the TV, for example, increase the volume.
If the volume on the TV increases, the code is set correctly. If the volume does not increase,
select another code from the table and repeat steps 1-3.

Connection by automatic search of codes

1. Press OK and TV simultaneously for two seconds until the LED on the TV button blinks
twice. You have switched the remote control to programming mode.
2. Enter 991 from the remote control.
3. Press CH+. For each press of CH+, the remote control selects a code from the internal list and sends it to the TV
shutdown command.
4. Once the TV has turned off, press OK to save the code. If the code is saved successfully, the LED
the TV button will blink twice.
The remote control is ready to control your TV/set-top box.

Manual remote control setting

Option No. 1 - sequential enumeration of codes

The TV must be turned on.

  • Simultaneously press the “OK” + “TV” keys on the remote control and hold for several seconds until the “TV” button blinks twice. Thus, we will put the remote control into programming mode;
  • Dial the combination of numbers “991” on the remote control;
  • Start pressing the “CH+” channel switching key - each time you press it, the next code from the list in the remote control memory is sorted through, and a command to turn off is sent to the TV;
  • When the TV turns off, press the "OK" button. The “TV” button should blink twice - the remote control settings are saved.

To check, turn on the TV and try to adjust the volume of the TV using the remote control of the set-top box ("VOL" key).

Option number 2 - manual code entry

For rare TV models, the remote control list may not contain the required code. To solve the problem, let's try to enter the code manually. You can see all code options.

Don't forget - the TV must be turned on.

  • Press “OK” + “TV” and wait until the “TV” button blinks twice;
  • Enter the four-digit code (corresponding to the TV manufacturer) from the table (link above);
  • Upon completion of entry, the “TV” key should blink twice.

Each manufacturer has several codes presented in the table. If, after entering the code, the volume on the TV will not be switched by the remote control of the STB set-top box, repeat the entire procedure, but enter the next code from the list.

Reset

To reset, enter programming mode (as in “Option No. 1” or “Option No. 2”) and enter “977”. The POWER button should flash four times.

3. How to remove the conflict between the remote control and the TV

Sometimes, the issued STB set-top box has a code that matches the TV code. In such a situation, when trying to switch channels to Interactive television, switch analog channels TV. The problem can be solved by changing the code of the console remote control to something different from the factory one.

The set-top box must be turned on.

  • Click on “OK” + “POWER” to put the remote control and set-top box into programming mode;
  • Enter one of the following codes - 3220, 3221, 3222, 3223, 3224;
  • After entering the four-digit character, new code will be installed.

Check if the conflict between the TV and set-top box has disappeared. If not, perform the procedure again using a different code.

If you have lost your LG TV remote control or it has completely broken down and you cannot find exactly the same one in the store, try using one of the universal devices in this category. Universal remote control requires fine tuning and connections, these are the processes we will consider in this review.

Depending on the remote control model, the process of connecting to the TV may differ, but knowing the basic settings, you can intuitively guess what to press. Settings are only possible when the TV is turned on, so activate it from the button on the body. Also check the presence of batteries in the remote control and, preferably, their functionality, if possible.

When both devices are active, press the SET button on the PC, hold it down until the LED next to it lights up. Next, you will need to enter one of the codes that are intended for your TV model. These codes are supplied with the universal remote control.

When the code is entered, the LED, which I wrote about above, will light continuously, while before that it should have simply blinked. Now, without using numbers, check the operation of the remote control, for example, turn up the volume. If there is no result, enter the next digital combination from the list of codes. One of the codes will definitely work, as soon as this happens, press the SET button again, after which the setting will be saved and the indicator will stop lighting, it will light up only when you press one of the keys.

In the same way, you can set up a universal remote control for other LG equipment, music centers, soundbars, acoustic systems, music players and even air conditioners, in other words, any equipment that is controlled from the remote control.

A universal TV remote control may be needed for various reasons.

For example, to control multiple screens or due to a breakdown of a proprietary device.

In this article, we will briefly and simply explain how to set up a universal remote control and where to find codes for your TV.

What is a universal remote control

It sounds complicated, but in fact, it is a simple device that creates signal pulses suitable for most TVs and set-top boxes.

Huayu, Gal, DEXP, Supra are considered popular and high-quality manufacturers of UE.

The universal model will fit a large number of common and popular manufacturing companies, for example, Samsung, LG or Philips.

Differences from a regular remote control

The original remote control and the universal one have two significant differences, which significantly increase the cost of the first - this is its “branding” and quality.

A remote control made by the owner-manufacturer is undoubtedly of higher quality than a Chinese one. However, if the TV is already 5-6 years old, then you will not be able to find a branded remote control for such an old model.

How to find out the TV code?

The code is necessary to be able to connect third-party devices with it. These include remote controls, smartphones or tablets.

It ensures device recognition and correct operation. It consists of a unique set of numbers that can be recognized also on the TV itself.
To do this you will need:

  • login to YouTube;
  • open settings;
  • select the option to connect to your phone;
  • after entering the “Connect manually” section, a blue code will appear;
  • remember it or write it down.

How to set up a universal remote control

Each device comes with instructions that describe the setup process in detail. We will look at setting up models from popular manufacturers.

Huayu

To configure it you will need:

  1. turn on the TV, point the control unit at it and simultaneously hold down the power and “Set” buttons;
  2. Watch the indicator carefully, it should be on all the time;
  3. use the volume control to set commands;
  4. To exit pairing mode, press the “Set” button.

Gal

Automatic adjustment:

  1. turn on the TV, point the remote control at it;
  2. hold down the button indicating the device type;
  3. after the indicator lights up, release it;
  4. press the power button on the unit, it will start automatic search code;
  5. As soon as the TV turns off, you must quickly press “OK”, this will save the code in memory.

Sometimes the automatic search does not work well, so you need to configure it manually.

Manual adjustment:

  1. after turning on the TV and pressing the “TV” button, the indicator will light up;
  2. releasing it, enter the device code;
  3. After entering the fourth digit, the code will be saved in the device’s memory and the screen will go dark.

DEXP

Auto-tuning occurs according to the following algorithm:

  1. turn on the TV, point the CP at it, press the button indicating the brand of TV;
  2. hold down the “Set” button and hold until the indicator lights up;
  3. click on channel selection, automatic code selection will begin;
  4. Once the indicator goes off, immediately press the “OK” button to save the found code.

If the button is pressed too late, you will have to do everything again.

The advantage is that by searching through channels, you can regulate in which direction the search will be carried out.

Manual code entry must begin after pressing the “Set” button and the indicator lights up. Enter the numbers you found and click OK. The remote control will remember the specified combination.

Supra

Algorithm automatic settings:

  1. turn on the TV, point the remote control at it and hold the “Power” button, release after the indicator lights up;
  2. If setup is successful, a volume control bar will appear on the screen
  3. Turn off the device using the Power button.

Manual remote control setting:

  1. find the code for your device in the previously mentioned article;
  2. turn on the TV, point the CP at it, hold the “Power” button without releasing it, enter the found code;
  3. Only after the indicator blinks twice, release the power button.

If after setting up the universal remote control does not work, contact the seller or service center, there may be a defect.

First you need to double-check the codes and repeat the manipulations; sometimes mistakes are made during setup.

Typically, a universal remote control (RC) is a small box with LEDs, circuits and buttons. It works because the infrared sensor on it transmits required code to the same sensor in another device. Using it, for example, you can adjust the sound volume, switch channels, change the power of a particular device, and much more. A universal remote control differs from a regular one in that several electrical appliances can be recorded into its circuit at the same time.

Today we will look at how to set up a universal remote control for your TV.
